I knew you guys would like it. Hey, J-Man, I would not steer you wrong: the lines about the reality of the music industry, trying to break out of the box they try to put you in. Hardy is a great writer and musician. Glad he’s comfortable playing whatever he wants. Cant wait for the next Hardy video.

Great reaction! Hardy is very talented. The album is a half country half rock album. This song transitions the country side to the rock side. Has a real Puddle of Mudd vibe to it IMO. You should definitely check out more. Sold Out is great

This is basically his story. He started out writing songs for other artists. Typical radio ready fare, being a 'Mockingbird'. Then he got tired of not writing what he really wanted to say, so he turned into 'The Crow', he became himself. He has a lot of rock background apparently. You missed amazing lyrics, talking & being fascinated by the video. You should listen again, just for yourselves. My favorite is 'Give Heaven some Hell'. He has a funny one called 'Rednecker' too. Cracked me up. And yes, this is country rock. Today there is pop country, raplike country like 'Dirt Road anthem' or hip-hop type county like 'Fancy like' or 'AA 'for example. Blues type country like Chris Stapleton. Nobody can say they don't like 'country' unless they have listened to it the last few years. There are so many variations of the genre.

Pawn shop off of poplar was in Meridian where I’m from. Poplar drive is right through Meridian, MS and the studio is there. Just for some context.

Puddle of Mudd is who you're thinking of, and yes, he absolutely takes music influence from that band in particular. He mentioned in several interviews he was a huge fan of theirs growing up.
