Harlem Heat was one of the best tag teams in the world. Becoming cornerstones of the WCW tag division, Booker T and Stevie Ray earned a great deal of success while working as a duo. In late 1999 though, problems began to arise when Booker T brought in Midnight while Stevie Ray was out with a suspension. When Stevie returned, he decided to didn't want anything to do with Midnight, leading to Harlem Heat breaking up after Midnight defeated Stevie on WCW Thunder.
Booker T vs Stevie Ray took place at Souled Out 2000 and at the end of the match, Big T made his WCW debut. Formely known as Ahmed Johnson in the WWF, Big T would align himself with Stevie Ray. Stevie called this team the "New and Improved Harlem Heat" but fans would eventually know the team as Harlem Heat 2000. J.Biggs (formely known as Clarence Mason) and Kash (formely known as 4x4) would also join Stevie Ray and Big T, forming a group collectively known as Harlem Heat Inc. Like most things in WCW in the year 2000, Harlem Heat 2000 was seen as a failure and Ahmed wouldn't last very long in World Championship Wrestling. This video looks at Booker T and Stevie Ray breaking up, the formation of Harlem Heat 2000 / Harlem Heat Inc. and their eventual breakup.
