Thanks! I'm looking forward to trying new things with it. Next will be to attack the bass with it! I just brought some new bass strings of 174 gauge... They are like wrestling ring rope sized stings!

Always nice to see a different kind of video and a new jam! I don't know if you have a 7 string, but 6 to 8 is a bit of a jump even if you're used to the low tunings. Double drop D is super low, even in F standard, I'm tuning a 4 string up to F standard as well. Same thing Meshuggah does. I would definitely tune the bass down to drop D, going below that would require a really long custom bass and the fundamental of that D would be below the range of human hearing and probably every bass cab speaker on the market! No problem tuning the bass to the same note as the guitar. Glad the guitar is in good shape and working for you!

I found so far the biggest challenge with the 8 string is when I play the higher notes, I tend to miss the mark because instinctively this is where I start my sweep, and I find myself one string in instead of at the last string haha. Or running scales, I move a fret up too early forgetting there is an extra string haha. I have ordered a new bass so I can customise it for thicker strings. I've seen video with drop e1 I think, 1 octave lower than standard sound pretty decent. Which gives me hope to try one step lower. I'm a afraid of unhearable frequencies. Yeah the two 8 strings we brought are perfect, not one thing wrong with either of them. We hooked them to top a live setup and cranked the volume with a boost pedal, and it lived up to the same as any other guitar we used.

@@metalprognosis nice! Check out the video "My SUB OCTAVE BASS sounds MONSTROUS" where he had a custom built down to E standard down an octave, it's a super long scale length and custom made, unique bass. You might be able to get away with it, but I'd try seeing how it sounds in normal drop D first. It's a tighter sound, but still huge!

personally for bass i'd use midi and a trick like flipping the notes to go up when i go down in pitch. but recording an overdub bass track, i'd probably either use gating off the drums to tighten it up, or bury it in the mix to fill out the sound without making things sound sloppy. maybe games could be played with octave pedals and graphic eq's on a guitar track copy, and again bury it in the mix and or gate it. and then throw in the occasional overdub solo bass fill to create the illusion that there is bass on the whole track.

That could be cool.

I've seen so many reviews about that guitar as I'm thinking of buying it for some deathcore. This guitar sounds amazing, I don't get all these complaints that exist out there..

This guitar for me is a real winner! Sounds and feels really good. I think too many people like punching down on things, especially KZitemrs looking for that sweet click bait. As well as people are loyal to brands and have trouble detaching their bios from something new. For deathcore you'll have a blast with this guitar! The brutal Break downs you could come up with on this beast would be awesome!

This guitar is a great option, as it's super reasonable in price if you can get it in your country.

Could always try the grind/ powerviolence trick. guitar- a/b/y pedal both guitar and bass amps. Probably work better with that tuning.

Yeah I've seen a few bands use that trick for their live shows.
