Hi, Murphy, both guitars sound good and pretty alike, but on my opinion and my sound listening, ebony neck HB is my favorite one. I may mistake, but I can hear roasted maple neck/fretboard sounds softer, with little bit less bass, ebony fretboard sounds little bit deeper, more bass) 🤔🙄

Yeah, I agree. The ebony sounded more mid-scooped (or balanced, depending on one's point of view), while the roasted maple sounded with more mids and brighter. They both sound great, depending on music style.

The roasted maple is harsher but it has more resonance. I really like it.

Ebony sounds a bit better in both vidoes. More bass and treble. Roasted maple never really sounds better to me, just looks cool so I would probably pick it on a Fusion I just think the ebony guitars should all have a black headstock. Would be nice if they made plain white maple necks and painted all the Floyd supserstrats like they did in the 80s.. these flame maple finishes are for gentleman guitars like PRS and Gibson. Doesnt really make sense and probably takes more time to cut and finish those tops.

Hallo , about eb vs roasted any other thoughts after time and maybe tried others ? Still weird frequency on roasted ones ? Eb FR are the cheapest one by 100/150 than the roasted, very tempting to have one ( also normally a eb should be bit more expensive than a maple one , weird, must be a cheapo eboony or whatever ) . But it's all about fretboard for me in that case. I know only dark ebony and not macassar like those fusion should have . And every intruments on ebony gabon ( the black one) i tried share that thing , be bass or guitar , in that has lot of "clear" /bright attack which leads to lot of unforgiving but clear note separation great for modern metal , but maybe in cruchy bluesy chords not digging much, cause when i try to "bluesy bloom double step " it just dont " peak -it -out " but " stays there " if you understand what i mean , also that feeling of more " glassy answer" from the fretboard / which i.mo influence playing) . Dunno if macassar does the same i actually heard a bit of that when you crunched and chorded , but judging from a video is fairly difficult cause the mic picked your strumming , and just by looking at the macassar with lot more veneers maybe should be less "glassy" feeling . That said 300 is insane for a floyd even considering the cheapo pickups i want 1 for sure , maybe 2 but can't decide between the 2

It's difficult. To me the EB feel sound and play more or less like rosewood fretboards. the sound mitght be alittle bit more scooped than on the roasted maple, but fits very well with high gain imho. The sound difference isn't that huge, so I doubt you could tell just from listening to someone playing. Also, if I find to have a guitar to have to much presence fq, I tend to pick the strings a little softer. That's the case with these Roswell PUs (both the EB and the RM). These Pus are great, especially for cleans and crunch. I'd recommend to lower them a lot though, but if you adjust your gear to them, they are really versatile. That said, the biggest difference between the RM and the EB is the feeling of the neck, as the RM feels a little more raw (like a matt finish, if you know that), as the EB is just smooth. I still prefer the EB soundwise and because of the matching headstock. Btw. the RM is more expensive, because of the roasting process. I hope, this helps you for your decision. Cheers 😉!

Thank you very much for having spent your time in a long and thought answer. If they feel like rosewood it"s actually a plus for me ,my ebonies does not even come close, clearly a glassy more felling and a "U" equalisation perception .rest is very personal to you having so many nevertheless i get what you mean.very kind from you to answer so soon too, have a great day!

Maple has more compression to it and smoother transients. Depends how forgiving you want your guitar to be. I prefer the maple. I own a Dangelico with Ebony and every time I play it I wish it were a rose wood neck instead.
