I got mine around a year ago, along with a Thomann cable, the HB20R amp from HB and some Elixir strings for a little over $200. It feels solid, the build quality is pretty impressive, but the factory strings are pretty low-quality, the sound was half-dead after 3-4 months. It's a pretty versatile and reliable guitar for beginners and self-taught guitarists, I'm very happy with it.

Just bought a used one … I must say, the Color looks even better in real life 😍 The intonation was a little bit off and there was a little bit of fret sprout, but the guitar was bought 2 years ago and hasn’t been played once before I got it (all protective film were still on).

Yeah kind of impressed with this piece. Would be fun to upgrade it.
i just ordered this as my first electric guitar. Any recommendations on how to set it up? Or things to look out for when first opening it. Thanks!

First of all you need to do is to make sure those electronic parts (pickups, pots and switch) function as they should. As he said earlier there's a sharp edge on those frets, i guess you need to do some fret job on smoothing those edge. Try to check the neck's bow first. Some people like it straight, some people like it a little bit bowed. Then go for frets leveling to avoid dead note while you playing it on some frets. After satisfy with frets, smoothing those sharp edge frets for better playability. Upgrading some parts such as pickups, tuning pegs, saddles, springs, pots or switch is not quite necessary if you already satisfy with the setup of your guitar. This is how i set it up. Quite easy. You can do it on your own if you have some skills and tools.

Suprised no one commented this, but setting up a guitar is not just adjusting the bow of the neck. For a simple and proper setup, you have to adjust : - the neck bow - the neck tilt - the action - the nut (and lubrication) - the intonation - the pickups heights Beginners should take their first guitar to a luthier/guitar tech to set it up properly. Then, once you get it set up for the 1st time, you can eventually learn how to do a quick set up (without the nut and neck tilt part), in case you change string gauges/brands or in case the guitar needs another set up due to extreme temperature changes.
I bought the TE-62 The Harley Benton Telecaster. Very good gutiar for money, going to do a few mods, but don't have to, better in my mine then the Squier Afinity. Have hade it for a month and for now I just had to adjust the action. A year ago I was experimenting with C# tunning. Ended up getting a Goth Thunderbird bass, same color as your gutiar. I figured for a bass to experment with the one tunning why not get a cheap bass, so I got it and because of the tension I had to put thicker gauge strings and adjust the truss rod and I got a graph-tech nut while I was setting it up. If you know how to tinker with gutiars and do a few simple mods you can make it your own. Definitely a good choice for me.

I ordered mine the other day as a testbed for flat-wound strings on a solid-body. Just today I have fitted flat-wounds, Thomastik JS110. I like the result, though not for all parts: I would not use these strings for "screaming" solos. Apart from that, the sonic range seems to have grown with the replacement. I share your opinion that the factory strings are on the thin side. Using "better" strings (however wound) would probably improve the sound significantly. The build quality may match the price: I could imagine the machine heads to be the first to need replacing. But then, you could afford to buy a bunch of these guitars and tweak them in different ways.

@@bestguitarsnow I dont know anything about guitars and was thinking about getting one of the sets on the thormann website, either the Harley Benton ST-20HH Active SBK Bundle or the Harley Benton ST-20HSS Standard SBK Bundle... which one should I get? what are the differences cuz its just a little bit more expensive so u tell me

@@void8010 What kind of music do you want to play? The ST-20HH has active pickups which are most often used for heavier genres of music so if you're into metal it may be a better option for you. @@bestguitarsnow hello, I'm into metal but i also wanna play the other genres, what should my choice be? Also, if you know by chance, are the those bundles great? At first I was intentioned on buying the squier stratocaster pack but I'm too impatient so i looked out for something that has a lower price and i found those Harley Benton bundles, i wanted to buy that one bundle that costs 200€/$
