It also needs to be said that it is a wrap-around fairing design... Not a tree-mounted head lamp. This design has some advantages with the right windshield at highway speeds. It’s not that people think the HD is ugly, it’s that people don’t trust the HD company. HD currently finds every excuse at the dealer level to exempt warranty repairs. I have 3 friends that all spent $45K plus for top of the line cruising highway bikes. 2 engine oiling failures, and one engine oil leak later, HD declined warranty engine repairs because of Power Commander tuner sold to them by the very dealerships that sold them the upgrades when their bikes were new. If anyone reading this comment has the technical ability to convince me or my friends how a fuel enrichment electronic device will cause camshaft oiling failure, and an oil leak on the engine case half, we are all ears. Two of my friends own & enjoy new Indian motorcycle’s thanks to HD’s warranty disqualification experiences. They’re Indians have intake & exhaust mods. AND THEY STILL HAVE A WARRANTY! With the consistent corporate culture of HD’s quality and rickety warranty eligibility process, this new adventure bike will suffer the same fate at the dealership level. They will no doubt claim that dust & dirt will be considered as debris from off-road use, giving new owners the orange & black big weenie from behind because that’s what HD does. It’s not the looks, it’s the trust.

"Harley is known for making good looking bikes" as a Midwesterner I tend to disagree.... unless you mean "a bunch of bikes that all are black with chrome accents and look like your standard every day run of the mill cruisers". To me it just gets old seeing HD with batwing front after HD with batwing front sometimes 50+ in a row before I see anything else going down the road. They are all the same colors, they all sound exactly the same, and they all pretty much look like the exact same bike with a little change to one bit or bob. The only exception are the newest models which HD riders often make fun of and dislike them. Look at Yamaha for example, the difference between an FZ07 and an R6 in styling and sound is astounding. Or how about Ducati? The sheer ridiculousness of a Ducati Monster is hilarious. But air cooled V Twin cruisers.... *yawns*.

The V-Strom is one of the best looking and best value in the adv-touring category
Ugly? Maybe. But it’s an adventure bike. Utility is king. If it puts out the most light, turn night to daylight for trails then ugly is somewhat acceptable. What will kill this bike is price and weight. Harley is mostly for upper middle class and retired dudes chasing youth. No one is buying this bike for $33 grand. It’s not better than the industry leaders. Everyone else is below $20. The multistrada enduro was $24 and there is no way this competes with that, and for $11,000 more? Base models of comparable bikes start around $14. Pricing makes no sense. So look for buyers with more money than sense, but that’s what I’ll know about whomever I see riding one of these.

I love the way it looks! especially the head light, i thought it’s ahead of its time, it’s futuristic and modern but still classic and rugged. I’m glad someone is pushing the envelope, whenever some one trying to break through the traditional, it takes awhile for the mass to catch on as the mass market aren’t quite there yet, So it is kinda risky for the Harley to take the plunge especially in its current state, but good for them for going for it! It’s a beautiful bike! and it could be the look for bikes for the future, you never know

Hi Different Spokes TV, great video, well researched and despite having had my share of problems with HD and going back to Hondas, I am happy and surprised to see HD upgrading their primitive engine and getting with the times. Their 6-speed trannie on their road bikes was very good (for a HD bike considering the poor performance of their antiquated push-rod engines). One suggestion I would offer, with all due respect, would be to add a few introductory lines in your description section i.e. a brief summary of your video and/or conclusion; this would help viewers who have to "sifter" through so many mediocre YT videos, to find what they are looking for from someone with integrity (yes, I am writing about you)! Peace be with you, see you on two wheels, Ciao, L (QC & ME)

I'm a Harley owner and I'm extremely excited about the Pan America. I'm excited for the new engine and opportunities that it opens up for Harley-Davidson. I think the designs look great it's a very interesting bike and I look forward to owning one. Also I'm 22 years old and I prefer Harley-Davidson over any of those Japanese import bikes. The riding position is more comfortable for me being 6ft 4, the sound is more aggressive, the heritage and history is much richer, the family aspect is a lot stronger, and no other bike brand has rallys and bike nights. I have no hate towards anybody that rides anything else I have only love for all riders. We are one big "happy" family 😂. I just don't expect my mind to be changed anytime time soon.

I want one, been waiting on it, now it's pushed back because of a pandemic. I have owned multiple brands of motorcycles. I have owned multiple styles of Harley Davidsons. Yes, I'm and old guy, a geezer glider owner and I have ridden these United States on a Sportster, a Heritage and an Electra Glide with 200k under my belt in three countries. I want something that's not necessarily shiny, isn't overly flashy, I just want it to work properly, know that it comes with everything I'm ever going to need to tour the Americas top to bottom and back again. I want the gearing to manage all types of terrain and a power plant that is the essence of dependability. Does the light function properly? If so, then leave it alone. I am no kid, I'm not going to destroy it to prove the machine in any way other than to have it continue to function and have not the disposable income to waste. I want to have the freedom to go, see, enjoy without deadlines or to prove distance with time frames. I don't care what anyone thinks about it or that gets attention and not considering the purchase because it is what everyone else is doing. I want dependability and longevity in a two wheeled machine. Harley machines have proven themselves to me. If it came in camo and black I'd be happy. It will take time to work out kinks just like every other brand of vehicle with a new style. I am willing to try it and hope to be the first in line to drive one away, from the factory if need be.
