after I did this I cant get the brakes to bleed. Anything I might've missed or perhaps a video i could follow along for that?

I’ve had this problem before. I’ve let it gravity bleed and that’s worked. Look to see if the caliper piston is moving back and forth instead of staying out. If so I pull the caliper off and it moves out I hold it out then release the master cylinder brake arm. Usually this takes care of it. Let me know if that helps.

No thin layer of grease on the back of pads or pistons..??

General I don’t need it but if I do I’ll either use a thin layer of RTV or Never Seize

You definitely cleaned everything but you took all the paint off. Its bare aluminum now.

The calipers are power coated and had 85,000 miles on them when I did this video. The solvent tank that I used is nothing more then hot water and soap, so I don't think that's what took the coating off. I think that part sits up against the fork slider. Thank you for watching and commenting. Please like and subscribe if you haven't.

Are these calipers similar/the same as a 2001 fxdx caliper?

When I do this do I bleed the brakes first or after once o finish the rebuild?

Rebuild the caliper then reinstall the caliper then bleed. I just put up a video showing the entire process. It should clear up any confusion. kzitem.info/news/bejne/lWetsnmtoaygnY4

What size are those small 12 point sockets??
@Rapsgarage
Жыл бұрын
The bigger 12 point bolts are 10mm the smaller 12 point bolts are 1/4". The smaller 12 are probably something metric but I use a 1/4" and it works.
