Have you ever used the wrench the VTwin sells for adjusting push rods. It holds the top and bottom nuts at the same time so you can tigh

I've seen the wrench, but for only the number of times I do this a year, it doesn't seem like something I need now. I'm working on purchasing another chassis to put my other panhead motor in. When that happens, I'll pick up a few more tools.

Hello! Thanks for the vid.....I'm wondering how you start the motor with your CV carb? (both hot and cold) And, what compression pistons and cam?.....thanks again....walt...tulsa,ok

Walt, I haven't had the motor apart to know, but based on the rest of the bike, I'd have to say all stock. You can see cold and hot starting on the end of most of the videos on the bike. COLD - enricher circuit on, two prime kicks, enricher off, ignition on, kick usually starts in one or two. If it takes more than 4, I hold the throttle 3/4 open cause it's flooded. HOT - nothing, ignition, no throttle.

I really like have solid roller in my bike and don't even remember how to adjust a hydraulic at this point

From the service manual. Adjust the rod out until the slack is gone. Then turn the adjuster 4 full turns out (longer) to preload the hydraulic plunger. It's the same as a car except for the amount of preload. Hydraulic push rods are quieter, but can bleed down if the oil get dirt and keeps the ball check from opening.

@@oldbobsgarage8019 cool thanks for that, my pan is solid but I recently picked up a shovelhead and I'm pretty sure it's hydraulic

Just remember that when you adjust hydraulic lifters you must let them bleed down.
