Now he just whines on tv about how he never loved any of the first three wives and how everything wrong in his life is their fault.

I grew just a few miles from “the creek“ in so I was aware of some flavors of polygamy early on. My wife and I have left the LDS Church as well - which is also in essence a polygamist cult - and creates and supports the abuse of people on many levels. We are proud of you and congratulate you for leaving and being vocal about it. You are most likely saving many lives! Thanks for all you do!

2 things. First, I wonder if Utah doesn't crack down on polygamy because of tax revenue they earn from their businesses. 2nd, I worked in a men's medium security prison in Oklahoma and the time given to child predators, or any sexual predators, was a joke. Kid rapes an 83 year old woman and get THREE FUCKING YEARS. Guess what? When he got out, he did it again. 5 years for that one. It's absolutely disgusting that drug crimes serve more time than sexual predators.

Hi Amanda, I don’t think I’ve ever commented on one of your videos since following you for some time. I just want to thank you for speaking out. Your story was an eye opening experience into the horrible realities of living the “doctrine” of polygamy. I enjoy listening to you because remind me of my sister with your outspoken attitude and dark humor. Your thoughts in this video were so needed as I’ve been having the same feelings towards the atrocities that are continuing to be committed by the belief and practice of polygamy. After watching you on Mormon stories I told my husband about the gun business that is owned by the order and asked him immediately if he had ever purchased anything from them. Thankfully he did not. If you haven’t already maybe the community could start a list of companies owned by polygamists and start boycotting? I’ve had a long and good awakening process from the controlling Mainstream LDS religion I grew up in. I was one of those Mormons who joked about how we don’t do that polygamy thing anymore and all those other groups just didn’t get the memo not ever realizing how harmful the lifestyle is. Since waking up, I’ve had a constant nagging in the back of my mind on how to put an end to polygamy. How can we change a belief that has been so ingrained since childhood? Can we combat the problem using scripture against the leaders who are dressed like sheep to wake up the ones being preyed upon? You may or may not be aware but a growing number of Mainstream LDS people are and have been questioning the polygamy narrative. Specifically, that polygamy is and never was ordained of God and that Joseph Smith was not a polygamist. It was Brigham Young who promoted and perpetuated that idea and practice. There are disagreements about whether or not Joseph Smith was a polygamist but I think I better reasoning process would be to persuade people that it is not of God. Have you heard of Michelle Stone’s channel, 132 problems? Hemlock Knots channel, Whitney Horning, Rob Fotheringham are good names to look into and consider their work. There are many members of the church I grew up in now preaching about the false polygamy doctrine online. Even though the Mainstream LDS only practice polygamy through sealings if a spouse dies, we are still a polygamist church at heart especially the current leader. I hold a lot of blame on the Mainstream LDS church leaders AND members for the various sects practicing polygamy because they are legally turning a blind eye to it and are therefore complicit in the crimes of polygamy. Because they are either apathetic, ignorant, or still believe that to be credible doctrine. There are strong reasons why people hold onto it. Too much to go into right now. I was recently reading through the Anti-Plural Marriage Act of 1882 and I had shivers at the thought of, ‘what if this act had never passed? What if these people in government had not done anything about those Mormons in Utah practicing polygamy? I could have been raised in polygamy!’ It made me sick and angry. It’s my belief that it is going to take good, righteous, actual Christ following people to stop this madness. Children in polygamy are left fatherless and it’s up to us to do what an actual prophet like Isaiah said to do, Learn to do good: demand justice, stand up for the oppressed; plead the cause of the fatherless, appeal on behalf of the widow. These cult groups have perverted scripture to set themselves up for power and gain. That’s why it’s important for everyone to be educated about what God’s word actually says and not rely on a self-proclaimed man’s interpretation. I think people in the mainstream LDS group need to continue hearing stories about the abuses of polygamy. If we truly thinks it’s a wrong practice then legal measures should be taken to outlaw this practice but also educating people on what scripture says. There needs to be a religious cultural shift.

I had to come to St. George, UT for medical treatment and was shocked to see so many FDLS women and children. I was also shocked that the State of Utah would allow polygamy to be practiced. I mentioned to my doctor how this was bothering me to the point of causing me emotional distress because these women and children were being subjected to abuse. My doctor told me not to worry about these women and children as they are willingly participating in the religion. It astounded me to think a doctor could believe this and also make this comment. I think a lot of people in St George choose not to see polygamy as a threat to women and children, I cannot wait until I can leave St George and Utah, Thank you for posting your videos and exposing these crimes.

As a mental health therapist who used to work at a rape crisis and child abuse center...this is not more common in religions. This issue is a human issue. And many other countries are even worse. Our country I think is worse than some in the sense that we have a court system that tries to be too fair to pedos and sex abusers... I think anyone who is confirmed sexually abusing a child should be forced to become a eunich. Sorry. You should lose your ability to be aroused if you do this to kids.

The minimum marriage age is being talked about more and laws have been changing in recent years. But most states still have exceptions that allow marriage under 18 in certain circumstances. Unchained at Last is a great place to learn more, they are working to end child marriage in the U.S. Here are the current minimum marriage ages: 18 in 12 states, 17 in 11 states, 16 in 21 states + D.C., 15 in 2 states (HI & KS), no minimum age listed in 4 states (CA, MS, NM & OK). CA & NH currently have legislation pending that would raise their minimum to 18 (with no exceptions) if passed.

I’m from California. I tried to get a restraining order from my physically abusive daughters, father and I sat in court hearing a lot of girls before me explaining how abusive the father’s were to not the child but the mothers and the judge kept saying I’m going to take away your time if you keep complaining because it is your job to get along with the father, you both need to coparent for the child and it’s not OK that we have to coparent with someone who is very scary and no rules get put on them
@keashablew7728

If you don't live with the other parent and they are not coming to your home why would you need a restraining order? Not you but the other mothers. I have delt with custody when a mother accuses the father of abuse and lies and judges just aren't buying it anymore. I'm not saying abuse doesn't happen, but your ex hurting your feelings is not the same as abuse. If the father is not abusing the child why should there be a restraining order? Unless he's showing up at your house or actively stalking you being mean is not grounds for a restraining order.
@keashablew7728
5 ай бұрын
It's really the fault of mothers that used the restraining order as a mechanism to take children away from their fathers that ruin it for actual victims of abuse. And I say this as someone that has gone through the process for my own children. I'm in no way trying to say you weren't abused or these women weren't abused, but its the liars that ruin it for real victims

So I am absolutely certain I was a somewhat unknowing helper in a woman and her kids escaping this or a very similar group. Mom of the family had a million kids, my friend was the oldest girl and drafted a few of us to help them get their things out of the house. This was in Northern Idaho, along I 95, which I'm sure you know was one of the pipelines they were traficking girls on. They were leaving the husband and had to get the deed to the house, because it was hers but he was holding it to control her. The police came with us and the dad was being insanely controlling and kinda creepy, and he was very specific about what my friend took, down to individual items of clothing and stuffed animals and blankets. So, like, it was pretty intense... but... I can be a bit of an agent of chaos at times. We needed to get a box of papers that the soon-to-be-ex was sitting on. To create a distraction, I marched over and grabbed a chair (not on the approved list) and started carrying it out the door. I went full power walk so he had to chase after shouting at me. I turned around and started yelling back... in French. I think I just yelled something like "I don't know what you want! I understand (what he was saying), but I don't care. You smell like cheese." I knew he didn't speak the language so it didn't really matter what I said, only that I was loud, and confusing. I'm good at confusing. The cop came over and once I saw somebody with the box sneaking to the cab of the Uhaul I smiled and handed him the chair like I was JUST understanding he wanted it. Looking back, I probably should have been a lot more afraid.

I think many people who think polygamy is good are mixing it up with polyamory. Which is the choice of including more than 1 romantic/sexual partner in your life. There’s many different versions of that but it’s always consenting adults who want to do it. There’s still people who do bad things in polyamory but that’s the same with how some people do bad things in monogamy.

We need GOD'S grace through Jesus Christ's death and resurrection. We don't need ANY person or person's adding to or taking away from what GOD did through His Son, JESUS! Ephesians 2:8 states, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of GOD- v.9 not by works, so that no one can boast".
