Hi Filip, I've been using your exercises for only a few days and already notice the improvement. Thanks! I'll keep doing these for a long time to come I think.

Fantastic lesson, thanks for sharing your wisdom and great advice. Congratulations on putting out another great Harmonic album with dedication to another great Harmonica player, “in the spirit of Toots”, surely one of the classics for the genre

Hi Filip. Thanks for all your great informative videos. I'd just like ask, for setting up diatonic harmonicas out of the box would you recommend the 'Seydel Setup Tool Soundcheck Vol. 03 - SETUP PACK'? I've been playing diatonics for yeas but never really learnt to make them more efficient. Now I'd like to learn jazz properly so I'm finding they need to respond better. Also does your Patreon course go through all the basics for jazz, from setup to scales and riffs?

Thanks Filip for a very interesting and useful lesson. I have only begun to work on overblowing in the last 6 months or so. What seems to be the most difficult move for me is moving from a straight blow note on a hole to an overblow note on the adjacent lower hole. I wonder might you have any good tips to help. I suspect persistence is what's needed.

Hi Conal! Lots of practice and awareness. When you find something that is hard - just stay there and play it for slow motion 5 minutes in a row. Repeat for 7 days. Hopefully it will help! And make sure that you harmonica reeds are setup correctly, not to tight and not to open.

Super interesting lesson. Do you do this kind of technical work everyday or do you have specific days dedicated to technique ?

Not for a long period of time but when I run into something difficult I stay there for a week or two. Or 6 months, haha, depends on what it is! Best, Filip

Amazing video, thanks a million! Do you use the same (or simillar) paterns for overdraws? Would you sayit's a good idea to practice overblows and overdraws in the same session or would you rather divide it into two?

Awesome lesson. Thank you for this. Is there a particular articulation you use to kick into the overblow? I can play them, but when trying to play melodically the note seems a bit delayed and mushy.

If it is delay you are probably pushing too much air or the reeds are gapped to tight. Overblows should be able to pop out with the lightest pressure, then your harmonica has the optimal reed gapping.

Can we do overblow on cromatic harmonica?

No, not possible because of the valves.

I'm presuming you are doing all pucker embouchure with this. I am 99% a tongue blocker, so recognise that I really need to use pucker for overblows, so, any tips for quick embouchure switch when moving fast to an overblow? Also, no patterns here involving regular bends, is that deliberate?

Yes I am pucker/lip purser. It is possible to overblow with tongue block as well, I am however very slow at it but I think it should be possible to master. No - not any bends - just overflows.
