Update on Allan Lichtman's 13 Keys: Based on the 13 Keys to the White House model, let’s assess which six keys may have “turned false” in a hypothetical Kamala Harris vs. Donald Trump matchup. This analysis is speculative and depends on the conditions at the time of the election. Here’s how some of the keys might turn false for the incumbent Democratic party: 1. Party Mandate (False): Democrats lost control of the House of Representatives in the 2022 midterm elections, which means this key is false. 2. Incumbency (False): If Kamala Harris is the candidate instead of Joe Biden, this key would turn false since she is not the sitting president. 3. Short-Term Economy (False): If the U.S. economy faces a recession or significant economic decline during the election campaign, this key would turn false. 4. Social Unrest (False): If there is sustained social unrest, such as widespread protests or civil disturbances, this key could turn false. The U.S. has experienced significant social unrest in recent years, and a continuation could affect this key. 5. Foreign/Military Success (False): If the Biden administration fails to secure a significant foreign or military success before the election, this key will remain false. There hasn’t been a major, defining foreign policy success recently. 6. Incumbent Charisma (False): Kamala Harris is not widely regarded as a charismatic figure or national hero in the same way that past charismatic candidates like Ronald Reagan or Barack Obama were, so this key could turn false. These six keys turning false would suggest, according to the model, that the Democratic party would lose to Donald Trump, who would then be the challenger in this scenario. However, this analysis is hypothetical and depends on future developments leading up to the election. Who else is looking forward to Allan Lichtman's first stream after the election? Have you ever seen a grown man cry?

As I understand it, he talks to people with access to the private polling data but I don't think he gets to see the data. The private polling data is probably from the campaigns and I would guess that he hears about it from the Trump campaign via Sean Spicer. That's just my guess. I have no evidence for that. But Mark has his own connections with private pollsters as well, so that could be his source. The campaigns would never give away access to their polling data because 1. @justins6113

Because at this stage in the game many public polls are “push polling“ designed to lead the Voter to a certain paid-for conclusion which the party paying for the poll wants them to have. So at this stage we might see a stronger lead from Trump than is actually the case, then closer to the actual time of voting that lead might reduce or eliminate in order to motivate undecided to get out and actually vote to support their candidate. Private polls, used by investors and political insiders will show much more of the reality of what is going on, allowing them to plan investment strategies and deploy resources in the election to address real time concerns.
