You know what? This is actually a great idea for a way to aid in learning new languages. You're already familiar with the story so hopefully that will make recognizing and translating words easier over time. Hmmm, I may consider doing the same.😃

Right? Matt (my hubby) did say one thing. He's been learning Norwegian and attempted to read the Harry Potter books in Norwegian not realizing that it's not just in a different language but they changed the names of the characters and various other things. Threw him for a loop a bit. 😆 But it really does seem a great option. I feel like anyway you can ease into something, by starting with the familiar is always helpful. 💕

It says "all 7 volumes of the anniversary edition" on the box. The first book´s title translates to something like "the wise men´s stone". It is an educational decree on the cover of Order of Phoenix. I read the English version, too, but I only have the German paperback edition. Mine has the original artwork, which is ugly. But I´m fine with it. I only want the books to read them, not to display or collect. No chapter stars in my edition, by the way.

I knew I could count on you Tilly! Thank you! And I loooove that translation, 'the wise men's stone.' Thank you for all of the info! I love learning all the things!! 🥰 There is something special about the books we first read Harry Potter in, regardless of the art. They are innately beautiful because of our connection to them. Ah! I thought I heard right, about the 3 stars being just in the U.S. edition. Thanks Tilly! 🥰

That edition sure is beautiful! I also really like gold foiling on book covers. I don’t think I would get the books in a language that I don’t speak for myself. I actually didn’t keep any of the german books that I had when I first started reading Harry Potter. Right now I only own the hardcover version of the house edition which is of course in English. But I am thinking about trying to read the Scot’s edition just for the fun of it while I am visiting Scotland in May and I am planning to rent the french version at the library at some point to brush up my French… Are you planning to show all of your Harry Potter books in a video sometime?

Aren't they? I love a bit of gold foiling too (the niffler in me), especially when subtle. I totally get that! I don't have many on my list I'd get in another language. Heck I didn't even think I would but I kept looking at this one and another, and couldn't resist. It's also a reminder to me that the love for the story is all over the world. 🥰 OMG! I have the Scot's edition! Hauled in my Powell's trip and boy oh boy will it be interesting to read. I flipped through some pages and had a laugh or two, mainly at myself attempting to read it. Oooooo visiting Scotland ... color me very jealous! That's a great idea! I definitely will! Once I gather a few more. I forsee a few big bookhauls in my future. Muahaha! 📚😝

Hi there, I just got this edition myself. I'm German, and i've actually never read Harry Potter. It's very interesting that you've bought a book in a language you don't speak. Amazing in a good way. I've bought the Books, preparing for my October vacation . so i planned to read these books then. Best wishes from Germany

Hey Christian! One of our rules (for buying non-English HP books) is it has to be in a language we want to learn, we just love the art, or both. 😁 My husband is a big fan of Germany, ever since he visited, and has been teaching himself German. I hope to learn one day too. So these hit both spots. 😊

German books, very interesting. Gellert Grindelwald would surely approve. Germany is a lovely place, very clean with the best chocolate and desserts ever! I know a bit of the language, mainly pet names/fond words and profanity...Sorry, just how it worked out, blame Gellert. LOL. Nice to know that germany Amazon ships to the U.S Brilliant thinking on your part! Same works for collector items as well as there are items in the UK that aren't in the US. Interestingly enough when I discovered your channel in September, we were getting ready to go to Portland for the day for a concert of a German rock band. LOL. Just gotta love the little magical connections of the universe. Nice packaging. The snitch without its wings out reminds me of when it's at rest, so is rather unique at least. I have a necklace of the typical phoenix rising, for example, but anotehr of the bird seated on an onyx with wings folded, which I really like as we rarely see phoenixes at rest and they do do that as well so...Same can go for the snitch I suppose. Haha! Oh I would love to visit Germany! A trip to Europe as a whole is definitely on my list!. Haha! That's me and knowing some Farsi ... I know welcome sayings and a good bit of profanity. It's funny you mention UK items and Amazon ... you might enjoy a video coming out in the near future. Wink wink. 😜😜 I remember you mentioning you were in Portland but forgot it was for a German band. You know, my favorite band ever is German. I do wish I could see them in concert one day. What was the band you saw? TOTALLY agree! In fact, after I said that I sort of realized exactly what you are pointing out. That we really don't often see things in all the forms they come in, sitting, standing, closed, open. And so true! Granted, I have the plush Fawkes at rest but we really don't see all the ways of being.
