Harry Tsoukalas was suffering from many chronic illnesses, so he researched the ancient Greek philosophers and doctors, and he discovered the importance of a healthy diet. He implemented his own diet, and he called it the Hippocrates diet. The diet was very close to his original Greek diet when he grew on a small farm in Corfu, Greece, when meat was a rare commodity. The food was primarily plant-based wholefood and organic and didn't include breakfast but just two meals a day. The Greek diet also had 200 days per year of fasting from animal products for religious reasons. Within two years, he healed from his chronic illnesses. In the middle of a historic pandemic, he went against the trend, and he decided to open Hippocrates Healthy Eatery offering meals based on his healing diet. Plant-based wholefood, organic, sugar and gluten-free, and no deep frying. Almost a year on, he is going ahead opening more Hippocrates Healthy Eatery quick-service franchises.
