Complete teardown of the Hart 40V Brushless lawn mower. I'll show you how it works and what's inside. The crown jewel is the 40V Brushless motor awaiting!
HALF INCH LUG NUT!!! You have no idea show LONG it took me to find your very helpful video. Been kicking the wheel in place as I mowed cause I couldn't find a nut that would fit (no idea where the original fell off.) Now I know what to ask for at the store! Yay! A MILLION THANKS!!!!

Good stuff! I recently cleaned up a Ryobi mower that looked exactly the same under the cover. Other than the blade and wheels being beat up, everything else was in good shape. I also got a plug in Ryobi pressure washer that has a BLDC motor and looks like it could be repurposed with the right motor controller. It's nice to put things to use instead of throwing everything away. Thanks for the video!

It's probably made by the same manufacturer, TTI, which also makes Ryobi, Milwaukee, and Ridgid tools.

I used 3 of these on a 54" deck for my electric zero turn first version with full size blades. They were barely enough for normal length grass. I upgraded them after half a season to sensored motors that are just a little bit larger. Huge difference. Now I have 4 of these and don't know what to do with them lol

Can the controller be hacked to use on ebike with throttle ?

I'd imagine that brushless controller is the same as a small (6 FET) ebike/scooter controller if you open it and compare boards. The 'learning leads' probably connect to that small ribbon and connector.or maybe unused hall leads. The boards usually have helpful markings showing what the connection does for the basic functions

Great video. I have the 40v non self propelled version and want to use it as a shredder by running it upside down. The problem is it has a tilt or gyro sensor that will not allow the motor to start if it is tilted more than 45 degrees. I'm guessing that sensor is on that main controller. I would love to know how to by pass it otherwise Ill have to pull out that board or sensor and invert it. Any ideas? I also think I could "hot wire" this by bypassing all the sensors and the contoller board.

I have the skil one sold at lowes and amazon. Not self propelled but looks a little better built than that.

are these motors worth using in an E bike? or any of these components? i picked up a brushless ryobi 36v mower motor but no controller for it (suspect simple 3 wire, but i haven't looked at it yet)

The motor is absolutely good for an Ebike.

@@vuaeco i hope to learn how to do something with it than just buying a kit(can't afford one) still learning about batteries and charging/bms from your videos is giving me confidence :)

@@deankdx Use power tool batteries. It already has BMS and standard charger.

Great video thanks for posting ....Is it safe to connect a 36v battery Directly to a brushless lawnmower motor and bypass the controller ? I would like to convert my 36v Florabest lawnmower to use Bosch 36v batteries but it has some sort of encapsulated BMS / thermal sensor in the mower . can I just bypass this ?

no, the motor runs on 3 phase AC. I already went down that rabbit trail. The controller must have an inverter circuit is my guess. 73
