I've been saying this for like past 5 years? Longines is killing it like there's no other. I hope more people will start looking at them instead of Tudor. Also, within Swatch group, Rado is such a forgotten brand somehow. I believe it's time for them to come into the light and make us go wow just like Longines.

Interesting how certain brands are given more "hierarchy" over others. Longines is just far more "recognisable" and continues getting pushed by Swatch. Crazy how their advertising and sponsorships are everywhere. I agree, Rado is another name that should be getting the attention... they could be on the same level as Oris with enough focus on their designs and target audience 🥃

@@ID-Guy Is Longines more well known brand than Rado? I always regarded them as equals myself. With their own strengths and weakness. Like, Longines is great at making retro inspired watches than most other brands out there, while Rado is the master of materials. I read somewhere that due to the knowledge developed by Rado, Omega was able to make ceramic cases. In my POV, it's only Omega, Hamilton, Longines and Swatch are those brands that are getting most of focus within Swatch group while other brands, good brands mind you, are getting shafted, I mean we haven't heard anything from Breguet for ages.

@@boldaslion281 for me, I'd go with the Longines. I'm not in the market for a dress watch and I usually prefer watches with some lume. And, the Longines should cost significantly less, too.. at least new. If second hand, then the GS might be closer to the Longines new.. but, the GS seems to cost still a bit more second hand. So, idk what you're leaning towards.. dress or diver? They are quite different watches. I imagine the blue on the GS is more radiant, but a lot deeper, and might have even look black. Reminiscent of what Tudor did with the BB54; the reduction in size, the subtle refinements, the cohesion. It's very good. I've picked up an Avi Big-Eye 𝘢𝘯𝘥 a Spirit from Longines this year and have been impressed with both. I expect that I'll pick up one of these too. I have a large wrist - 20cm / 7.75in - but prefer smaller watches, particularly those with long lugs - watches that obtain much of their presence from length, so the brand often wears well on me. There's a maturity, a subtlety and elegance to this watch that one doesn't often encounter in a dive watch - only enhanced by the BoR bracelet - that I expect would have me reaching for this watch when I'm suited n' booted (again I'm reminded of the BB54). That's a good thing and a trend that I hope to see more of in tool watch design / application. ☻

Longines, is my favorite watch brand. I own seven different Longines watches in my collection. As an avid Scuba Diver, I own a Longines HydroConquest Dive Watch which I love. I do not own a Longines Legend Diver watch at this time. I do love the design, however as an environmental Scuba Diver, ocean explorer, and as a scientist concerned about the environment and overfishing of our oceans, I would like to see Longines make a redesign change on the elegant Diver image on the caseback of the watch. I would like to see the harpoon removed from the diver’s hands and/or a new design of a more environmentally friendly diver on the caseback. So the diver does not appear to enter the ocean as a hunter, ready to hunt and kill aquatic life, but to appear as a diver entering the underwater world to explore the beauty of the natural environment and be respectful of all the fish living in their natural habitat. I have previously written Longines’s management and product development leader with this suggestion , even provided sketches as examples of a potential redesign of an environmentally-friendly looking diver. But, have never heard back. I love Longines, and as a Scuba Diver and ocean environmentalist, I hope one day Longines would consider this suggestion. I believe it would give the Longines Legend Diver watch a new and attractive look, and at the same time position Longines as a Dive Watch company concerned about the preservation of natural aquatic life in our oceans and waters of our planet.

Had a video on the Planet Ocean lined up for this week and this sudden drop on Thursday made me think "no dude, you have to cover this" Try as a might... can only see how much of a positive move this piece is. Even with such an odd design (by today's standards) they've crushed it everywhere! And well said about the "modernity" of it all. I'd 100% say mesh... 50's divers on mesh bracelets hit differently 😉

Totally! Mind you, only a matter of time b4 someone bi7ches about 'no micro adjust..!' Ha ha. Looking forward to the PO vid. Awesome watch, but it could be so much more if Omega grounded it in the baton hand '67 Milspec. Like that, it would pair so well with Speedy Pro and could be joined by a baton handed, black dial AT for a modern Trilogy...@@ID-Guy

I don’t think anyone could be more excited than me about this new release. This is the perfect size for my smaller wrist. I wanted the larger but just couldn’t pull it off based on my wrist size.

Ryan thank you so much for sending me this donation! First time I've seen one in a long time 😆 Truth be told, this years collecting has been mad (still haven't shared my biggest pickup yet on the channel) but now with six core pieces the goal (hopefully) will be to slow down. My SOTC will be on the channel by January next year - really looking forward to getting into the pieces more methodically as a group. But man, great fun when a collection feels quite well rounded. Put it this way, I want for nothing. Sincerely, thank you for the question and sending in the donation man 🥃

I have the 36 and love it since I have skinny wrists, but I think the 39 will be a smash hit. I've been throwing around "Black Bay killer" about Longines for a bit now, but I think this might genuinely do it. Seems like a reason they launched it in both black and blue!

I always liked the Legend Diver, but it was too large or too small. The new version is killer! Was hoping for a sunray blue dial, have to see the blue in the flesh i guess. No date is perfect for me, as it is quite annoying to set in my collection. Thanks for your video!

It is a nice watch. IMO watch size is a personal preference. I prefer bigger watches personally but this is a big market, and there are sizes out there for all preferences. As always, excellent content IDGuy!

Great size and lovely watch. Always found the 42mm version too big for me, haven’t looked into the spec difference between the two but the price hike over the 42 is substantial unfortunately. Shame really 😢

Like with all of these new releases, give them 6 months to a year and we'll find them for great prices second hand. 2 years down the line big discounts will also take effect 😉

Longines listening like they did with Spirit 37. Good! But this one goes head to head with BB58 on spec, size and now price with BB58 and dunno about that....

I think it's very unique putting the vessel inside the case. Over never owned a dive watch do i funny 3 know how easy the bezels can come off if you brush against some object. Like 3 like an accident waiting to happen in"bezel on top" designs

It's nice Logines is an affordable brand in its modern iteration. But I wish Longines, Minerva, Angelus were high-end brands that had a more direct connection to their immense heritage for their respective conglomerates. Probably an unpopular opinion, but Longines heritage is so incredible and significant. This is undoubtedly a good looking. near-perfect watch.

Regardless of size, petite for my ogre wrists, this compressor/skin diver style is a slick change of pace in what seems to be a “gonna* need a bigger boat” phase of divers. Very sweet watch!! *Benrus Ultra-Deep 666 deserves a look imho. Their 6088 has always been a favorite. We sell a ton of LÜM-TEC Vortex variants specifically for the compressor style lovers of old. Random… how about Yema!!?

Maybe they'll offer us the big watch with a choice other than brown numerals and indices. Pilot and Dive watches are supposed to be maximum legibility, they should at least offer the watches with white printing.

Good review. I personally do not like internal bezels. I think it looks proportionately off relative to case, lugs, and bracelet.I feel the same way when I look at the JLC Polaris Mariner Date. Other than that, it is a nice looking watch.

Lovely watch! If I had to pick at something it would be the font on Automatic. It looks exactly the same on the Seiko sports range. Which also looks wrong. Not sure who went first on the font but it annoys me slightly. Brilliant video as ever👍

Agree wholeheartedly…perfect proportions. My only thoughts are that the hands look slightly too small for dial - and agree that the hour hand would have looked better is the original spade form, and why has it taken Longines (or should that be Swatch Group) 15 years to produce a wearable version of the Legend Diver? 🤔 Now I’m imagining how different the Longines catalogue would be if it were independent…

The size is a big improvement but not all older designs are created equal as this dial is an acquired taste. I've never cared for it but I'm probably in the minority.
