Taught us basic safety etc. They seemingly stopped doing that because the younger kids already knew how to do basic operations on the computer. They obviously need to start doing that again. Because the younger generations are so easily manipulated and don't understand how to find reputable sources and form your own opinion. There’s a ton of misinformation, confusion and general fog of war going on, on top of it already being an extremely complex issue that very few people even know the basics of. At this point I don’t even blame people for being confidently wrong about anything about this conflict because there’s so much going on and so many people saying different things that peoples opinions on it isn’t falling under the usual “right vs left” factions. Like Ukraine for example, “supporting Ukraine” is generally more supported by the left while the right arguably wants the earth to end and for the U.S. to stop providing aid (preferably by ensuring the war ends rather than extending it via aid) But with this new conflict, I can’t even figure out which side the “left vs right” is on. Also as a side note, JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munition) isn't a missile. It's not even a specific weapon, its a guidance kit that can be applied to "dumb-bombs" to make them guided. They are used on 500-2,000lb bombs. 500lb bombs will do a fuck load more damage than burn a couple of cars. Edit: the "MK84 JDAM missile" remark is just cobbled together nonsense. The MK84 is a unguided bomb, when paired with the JDAM kit it becomes a GBU (Guided Bomb Unit), being a bomb requires it to almost exclusively be dropped from an aircraft, not launched from the ground. The Mk84 is a ~2,000lb unguided bomb. So there would've needed to be an aircraft in the vicinity to drop the munition, a ~2,000lb bomb would've likely caused extensive damage to the surrounding area and possibly brought the building down altogether For some extra context, these are some general explanations of the different between a bomb, rocket and missile Bomb: guided or unguided unpowered munition, normally air dropped. Rocket: a powered munition which is unguided, can be launched from ground or air. These are your "point and shoot" types, better your aim, better the accuracy Missile: almost entirely guided, powered munitions, can be fired from ground or air, these will use guidance to aim themselves and can be extremely accurate. (Think your Hellfire types on helicopters or fighter jets) I'm saying all of this to try and add some context as to hopefully help some you spot people who are saying things when they likely don't know what they're talking about.

@mpfmax0 I am British, out side of slang, I.E "that car blew past like a missile" (which would mean fast) I haven't really heard anyone refer to "missile" as being anything other than, well a missile. I can honestly say I've never heard someone call an arrow missile, though 😅 That being said, I have spent almost my entire life around military and areospace folks, so i guess it's entirely possible. However, within the military, a bomb, missile, and rocket are all separate weapon systems. Sure, there's some nuance to it (IEDs, for example, are a type of bomb, but aren't necessarily dropped) and missiles and rockets are very similar, with their main defining feature being guided or unguided respectively. Sure, some people do use missile and rocket interchangeably, but in military use, they aren't.
@FulkNerraIII
11 ай бұрын
Yes, exactly, and as a military nerd, I'd like to also bring up the Iron dome comment by Destiny. So first he is correct the iron dome uses a proximity fuse to destroy the incoming rocket. Anti missile defense systems usually use either proximity or hit to kill to destroy incoming threats. He was also the correct about the Iron dome not intercepting rockets in Gaza, as i guess some are trying to say that's what caused the rocket to fail and hit the hospital. The Iron dome uses its radar to pick up incoming threats, then figures out where that rocket is going to land. If it's a population area, it fires intercepting missiles. If not, it lets the rocket explode on its own. It does not launch interceptors into Gaza to destroy rockets as soon as they are launched. That would be extremely difficult and would waste a ton of expensive interceptors. The idea that the iron dome caused that rocket to fail seconds after it was launched is nonsense and not based in reality.

Just to clarify something (mainly for Hasan's viewers apparently), a JDAM is not a type of missile. A JDAM is a guidance system that can be used to modify & add capability to unguided munitions (aka "dumb bombs"). This means that a lot of bombs could be converted using JDAM. The level of damage will vary massively from the type of munition used & what it's intended use is. That said I find it hard to believe that the ground damage from this would be caused by anything more than an RPG or similar. I'm an aerospace engineer who switched into weapon systems over 5 years ago (obviously don't take my opinion as anything more than that), but I don't see enough evidence from a phone video at night to have any clue what happened from that video alone.
@termitreter6545

I dont think its true that a lot of bombs can be converted into JDAMs. The JDAM kit is specifically for the MK-80 series of bombs, and to my knowledge it only exists for its 500, 1000 and 2000 pound bombs. Those are also all general purpose bombs, so no cluster or incendiary munitions or so.

For anyone who makes the "that is not the sound of a JDAM" argument... THERE IS NO SOUND SPECIFIC TO IT. The "whistling" is caused when projectiles, or in this case, bombs when they fly over you. Every object fired has this effect and it sounds exactly the same if they are the same mass. The only difference would be if it's designed to produce specific sounds as it flies by (similar to certain fireworks.) If you look at videos of missiles being fired out of Gaza, you will see they have this sound. The bomb that landed at the hospital had a crater diameter too small to match any IDF JDAM, and it couldnt have been airburst because there IS a crater of impact, and minimal shrapnel on the roof of the hospital.
@Rskproduct
Жыл бұрын
You could argue that the sound of a propellant would be the difference between a JDAM and a rocket, for instance. The super loud sound could potentially be the propellant of the rocket going off, JDAM's rely purely on gravity and don't need propellant. But yes when something falls fast enough it makes a similar noise to that of artillery, bombs, etc. The only difference being, a rocket is much louder because of how much is cooking off behind it as it flies. In this case, the cemetery that Hamas fired the rocket from was close enough that the rocket was still filled with propellant, which would make the sound much louder.

@@Ill_drink_to_that Israel warned around 30 hospitals of possible strikes, and the crater is not consistent with that of a 250 lb bomb. The speed and altitude at which Israeli aircraft capable of dropping these bombs fly would leave a much larger crater in the ground, instead, all we see is scorch marks. It's pretty reasonable to assume that the scorching is from both the propellant of a rocket, like the ones fired by Hamas insurgents, and fires sparked from the gasoline inside of the cars parked there. Even a small-diameter bomb would have caused much more destruction than what we can see in the images.
@Rskproduct
Жыл бұрын
@@Ill_drink_to_that You disagree but you don't address the primary concern, which is that the crater doesn't match the diameter of one dropped by a small diameter munition. The speed of the bomb falling would be affected by gravity, doesn't matter how much explosive material is inside. The bomb itself is still 250 lbs being dropped from a high altitude, at 9.8 m/s^2 falling to the earth, a much large crater would have been produced. To be completely honest, I didn't even see a crater in the pictures I saw, I'm just going off what you're saying.

the hospital thing is so easy to disprove. Israel has been only using high accuracy ordinands, meaning if it was them trying to hit the hospital they would've and not the parking lot. Also its completely right that that crater is to small for pretty much all kind of ammunition Israel used. And its definitely no JDAM!! A JDAM is a guidance add on for most MK Bombs. They don't have no trail like that behind them and also they have to be dropped from an aircraft and can't be launched like you see in the video. Also I think the smallest bomb you should be able to add a JDAM kit to is the MK-82, which is a 500lb bomb which would leave a far far greater crater. If anyone has direct contact to Destiny and he is interested in having a short talk about some of this to be a bit better educated on this, or just would like to have someone he can quickly come back to and check in situations like that let him know I would be more than willing to do that. This dude loves hamas and won't admit it. Let's be honest, guys. Hamas piker is not looking at this conflict as a whole based on facts. This is completely emotionally based with a hint of honesty jew hatred. Good job Destiny. I appreciate how you tackle this and stuff like kyle Rittenhouse with an open mind and waiting for the facts.

The problem I have with taking a side on this is that all of my information comes from people with a vested interest in this conflict, on one side or the other, so how can I possibly trust anything that comes out of it? Not a single one of us is in a position to know the truth about any of this.

I get that. Important to keep that in mind that almost none of us have actual experiences over there atm. I see it as Hamas is in a favorable position to potentially false flag intentionally or unintentionally as they're by far the weaker power. Both against Isreal and US as we have 21k troops (19k and 2k on the way) so they must make an appeal through media rather than firepower. Idk, it's all very confusing at the moment.

I don't like the idea of 'simply' taking mainstream media at face value. However, this conflict and the amount of misinformation reminds me of how dogshit the social media takes around the Boston Marathon bombing were. Simply taking a cautious, nuanced approach to breaking news and current events can go a long way.

@@heyitsrichie27No one. You take no position unless you read a fully third-party verified article unfortunately. But that's better than potentially supporting something that doesn't actually align with your values.

@notan3144 This has been plaguing me for a while. I am so involved in my career that I barely have time to do proper research to make an educated opinion or even take a moral/ethical stance. Then I see people talking about modern day events with dozens of opinions, which ultimately leaves me just kind of on the fence(like you said), not really speaking my mind because I'm too ignorant to even comment on it without being better informed. Even then, you have to be careful what biases a research paper may have. It's all so exhausting, in my opinion. Ultimately, you are correct. The answer is to stay on the fence because otherwise, you're just yelling at the sky.

"You should plan your headlines around people only reading those." If only we lived in a world with that sort of journalistic integrity. I think the brown skin/foreign policy thing can be pretty easily linked just because if you're operating with the level of nuance the part of the left we're talking about is using, being browner almost certainly in their eyes means being more anti-american foreign policy. Obviously the argument is to be had on which part of that they lean on heavier but for the most part I think these two things are the exact same for the pro-hamas lefties.

Correction. "Nothing gets in or out of Gaza without Israeli" and Egyptians say so. Egypt is also blockading Gaza with the express approval of the PA and Abbas. Until the EU was formed, nothing got in or out of Belgium without the express approval of neighbouring countries. That's how borders work.
