How old are those bushes? Do you prune or fertilizer them?

The bushes are of different ages and some are even 15 years old. I shape older bushes into the shape of a tree, which I cut about 10-15 cm from the ground in autumn. During vegetation, I stuck two sticks to tie the growing shoots vertically. This is how they become woody and retain this shape. The twigs gradually begin to lean to the side and form the shape of a tree. The branches no longer touch the ground under the weight of the fruits, harvesting is convenient and there are no major losses. I fertilize in the fall with farmyard manure, or during the snow in January-February with ash or mineral NPK. They grow well if their roots are covered with agrotextile. I no longer fertilize during the growing season.

Hi.. thx for the detailed answer. In autumn you prune them, strengthen them with sticks and tie them. How long do they remain bound in this position or with support? Do you repeat this process every fall? Isn't then the crown of the bush too dense, too many crossing brunches ??

@@KSIPEK They will remain tied with sticks until autumn. Until then, they will become woody and retain their shape. When the branches grow vertically, the buds are most activated in the upper half of the bush. If one is activated below, I'll break it out. The twigs in the upper half of the bush will naturally begin to spread, tilt and droop to the side to make room for new vertical twigs to grow. This is how the classic bush crown is created, which is already higher above the ground and the branches with fruits do not touch the ground. The lower branches are then not shaded by those that are higher, as they have space below. I do this method of shaping the bush on those varieties that lie very low on the ground and the fruits on the lower branches no longer have enough light, have a bland taste, are damaged and difficult to collect.

@@KSIPEK Viktor Miškiv Can you give me an approximate time period from when to when you perform this procedure? How do you attach the agrotextile, the edges? I cut older bushes in late autumn - October - November. I mostly use 130 g woven agrotextile, which can last for 6-7 years if maintained. You can keep or remove the bundled bushes after lignification. I cut the fabric to a width of 0.5 m and connect it to the bushes with a stapler. I use U-shaped clips on the edges every 0.5 m. I plant seedlings exclusively in my own compost. I do not add peat, because it lightens the soil too much, which subsequently dries out. Then it does not accept water I also took some pictures here: facebook.com/groups/576186146560858/permalink/1120676062111861/?sfnsn=mo&ref=share
