In this clip, Hassan Johnson & Dan Perlman talked about the character development and arc their respective characters took in Season 2 of Flatbush Misdemeanors. They also spoke about how refreshing it was to bring Sticky Fingaz into the mix and what he brought to Season 2. Hassan and Dan were unsure though when asked if a third season is coming down the pike.
Moving along, Hassan also spoke about growing up in Staten Island, and he explained that he also spent time in Coney Island a lot of weekends growing up. Hassan also spoke about growing up a lot of Wu-Tang members, including Method Man and U-God, and Hassan said before the rap group blew up, Staten Island was proud of Steven Seagal being from the borough. Hassan then spoke about knowing that Method Man had star power, and he shared stories about U-God and Method Man rapping around the neighborhood. It was in those moments that Hassan knew could help put Staten Island on the map, and he went on to speak about the violence and tension that he witnessed growing up. While in high school, Hassan was dared to audition for the Spike Lee movie “Clockers,” which he did, and after 8 rounds, he got the role of “Trevor.” Hassan then revealed how his classmates reacted to his acting roles, which you can hear more about above.
