Most that watch shark tank don't realize a good number of these companies raise on crowdfunding sites too. The average person can't invest like the Sharks. Convertible Note gives Chris the liberty/privilege of converting this debt($250k) into equity (3.33%). In the event company takes off (which is the case here), he would make in more money by switching to equity. Had the company floundered, his investment would have been recouped with company selling its assets to pay off the debt.

It's not like the sharks when bankrupt, they also passed on the ring doorbell. I would never buy a changing table, when babies let you know when their hungry by nature, i have more than enough experience raising children, 9 kids to be exact...Btw, the changing table isn't what made them successful, she said the changing table wasn't that popular it was the other products that came after. Watch the whole video. So, the sharks were mostly correct.

The infant scale sounds better than what it is. It's nothing more than a WiFi-enabled large size kitchen scale. Assuming that a fully clothed infant is 15lbs, or 240 oz, a 1% margin of error would be 2.4 oz, in the same range as the size of each feed. This would lead to an under- or over- estimate of the infant's feeding.
@Scott-got-caught

I don't think we need to worry about a kids food intake. Let them eat when they're hungry. That's it. Why are babies better taken care of than the adults that raise them. Makes no sense. People need to take better care of themselves and stop over doing it with babies. They don't need nearly as much personalized care as you think. Send over some of that self care back to yourself. I'm sure 99.99 of you need it more than the kid

So they scrapped the baby scale and went for a white noise machine instead? I think the baby scale could have some merit if it sent weight info to the doctor. May-be if they did some intense R&D on it so that it had the capability to test and analyze fecal matter from a cotton swap taken each time you change the diaper and sent that info to the doctor as well you'd have a huge justification for the price tag. You'd also have a reason for reuse when you have a second or third or whatever kid, and have less anxiety over the little things. Getting baseline data that could send a notification to a doctor right away of changes would be a huge benefit for the doctors and parents.

Solving people’s sleeping problem is a much bigger market because it covers from ages 0-100 ( or older). People spend all sorts of money to find something that would help them sleep. Whether it’d be a pillow, mattress, Hatch’s product, etc.
