Wish I would have seen this video in Dec of last year. Jan ruptured my implant or displaced my implant of 20+ years. Such a difficult surgery to remove, repair and replace. In another video you said you were ok with burpees & pushups what about pull outs? Also I use to do alot of abdominal crunches with ankle weights and arm free weights. Basically alot of P90X ab work outs just adding weights (now I won't do the fly's though). What is an alternative? Do you have a video on this?

Hi , thanks for the video I am delighted but also very surprised to discover that these bodybuilding exercises are not recommended for women with breast implants. I have been practicing bodybuilding for 16 years and that is also the age of my implants placed above the muscle and I practice all these exercises every week with heavy loads (I did powerlifting for a while). A week ago I replaced my implants with (bigger) new ones and they were like new, and still placed harmoniously for 16 years while I have been training hard for 16 years, I had a little girl and I I breastfed for almost 2 years. I wouldn't do these exercises for at least the first 3 months for post-surgery safety, but I can't see myself removing them from my gym routines :-(

your implants are ABOVE the muscle. so these do not apply to you. downside to above the muscle has to to with visibility of the implant. and also longevity of the breast shape. with aging and gravity, your implants will inevitably drop lower onto your rib cage and abdomen. you cannot stop it. the soft tissue of the breast is the only tissue holding them up. larger the implant. worse it will be. if you had implant UNDER your muscle. the position of your implants will not change because the chest muscle is anatomically attached to the rib cage and not susceptible to gravity or aging soft tissue. hope that clarifies. thank you for comment. happy training!

I made this mistake when I first got mine and only about a year after I got them done, they dropped below my fold, they are not big implants either they did not look good when they dropped. I had to get them fixed and they put an internal mesh but I do not work my chest at all really but my chest does not look disproportionate or anything because some back movements do hit them just enough to give me some definition without compromising my implants. However even some back movements I cannot do without feeling to much pressure so I stay away from them. I do want to do pull-ups but every time I try the pressure feels weird. Do you recommend doing pull-ups?

I’ve had implants for about 10 months now and my surgeon only told me not to do push-ups. I have to take bi-annual physical fitness tests for my job and the test includes push-ups which I have skipped because I was told not to do them. My Dr did say I can do push-ups on my knees but these are not allowed for my fitness test. What upper body/arm/shoulder/back exercises are safe for me and don’t work the chest? I don't know how to be any clearer. 3 exercises I don't recommend. everything else is fine. listen to your dr or listen to me or just do what you think is right. Hi Dr, I’m 12 months post op and have dual plane, 325cc mod plus xtra profile and I’ve just started pole fitness. It’s the first time I’ve enjoyed any form of exercise. Im quite petite 58kg and 5’4. I don’t do any dips or push ups in class. Should I not be doing pole 😭😭. I am not a candidate for overs because I was a 30 AA cup.

So.... are you saying "never train the pecs"? Press, flyes - these are the main movements. I'm also a little unclear - is the pec major actually cut with "under the muscle" procedures? I would think function would be compromised

She doesn't "train" her chest - she is just fit, and could easily avoid these in her workouts. But she is also a midwife who frequently has to "hold hips" of her clients while they're in labor (essentially an endurance isometric chest fly hold on the outside of a client's hips. There is no dynamic stretch or "movement under load" in a full range of motion. But it IS a "chest fly" iso hold. Would that be off the table? And if so, would the alternative be "over the muscle"?)

as stated. not recommended. for the reasons described. if you want to train your chest and never stop, then advise having implants over muscle. which comes with other risks and consequences... breast descend with gravity, higher risk of capsular contracture, more implant visibility to mention the big ones. but your choice. train you chest if that is a priority. just my recommendations based on my experience of revision breast surgery. up to you. hope that helps.

What about the first exercise on the presentation, cable down for triceps? I worked out 1 week and my breast look already pushed down. @@tarabean1892 I haven’t had any problems with climbing per se, but I’ve definitely lost a significant amount of strength (with anything involving the pectoral muscles). My strength is nowhere near what it used to be but to be fair, I haven’t been super consistent with my strength training.

I just don't understand the confusion. I do not recommend EVER doing these three exercises IF you have implants under the chest muscle. I GUARANTEE you that you will not have a physiological imbalance not doing chest training. just three three. thats it. do everything else you want. again. just don't do these three. period. hope that helps.

just my opinion in my experience and expertise on the topic. just don't say you hadn't heard it before if you have displacement complications years after your augmentation. you heard it here. thank you for watching!

I’m just getting a reduction and a lift, no implant. So I’m going to assume this doesn’t apply to me.
