Welcome to Haven Pakenham: High quality, long-term housing with support to help people living with mental health and wellbeing concerns live life to the fullest.
Owned by The Haven Foundation, Haven Pakenham is part of an innovative model for high quality, long-term social housing with 24/7 funded support from on-site Mind Australia staff.
Funding for Haven Pakenham was provided by Homes Victoria as part of the Build and Operate program to provide social housing in partnership with community housing agencies.
Mind Australia’s mental health support workers will help you with daily life tasks and develop your skills for independent living - including helping you to connect with activities and other supports in the community. Support is tailored to help you achieve the goals in your NDIS Plan. Tenancy is managed by The Haven Foundation.
This property offers one-bedroom units within a 16-unit complex, each offering: main bedroom with built-in wardrobe, bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities, living room and balcony.
There are also well-appointed communal recreational and lounge areas, kitchen, meeting spaces and on-site overnight facilities for qualified and experienced around-the-clock support staff. Set in beautifully landscaped grounds, Haven Pakenham provides a great environment to focus on recovery, create a sense of community and to feel at home.
The Haven Foundation model promotes and supports the involvement of family, friends and other carers in the lives of residents, as appropriate to each person's needs.
In most cases, residents fund their The Haven Foundation - integrated social housing and support service via their NDIS package. Residents with NDIS packages that feature funding for Flexible Core - Activities of Daily Living, or Supported Independent Living, plus Capacity Building, typically choose help with:
• decision making, daily planning and budgeting
• building skills for shopping and cooking for healthy eating
• written communication and filling in forms
• learning to maintain a household with tasks such as laundry and cleaning
• developing and maintaining connections with family and friends
• getting ready for the day and other personal care tasks
Residents must:
• have enduring mental health and wellbeing concerns
• be between 18-64 years of age
• have the financial means to pay for rent and utilities
• have an NDIS package to fund housing support
• sign a residential tenancy agreement with The Haven Foundation
• be on or eligible for the Victorian Housing Register
