Despite all the issues with the typhoon it's still a beautiful and one of the toughest meanest looking airplanes I've always loved it

Hi Chris. One of my favourites ! Roland "Bea" Beamont was instrumental in it's development . The Sabre problems were actually caused by the mechanics taking short cuts when servicing and it caused the superchargers to be on constant maximum power . Roland Beamont would have a distinquished wartime carreer and post war was a test pilot for English Electric and flew the prototype Canberra and the TSR2 . Thanks Chris . Have a great Christmas

Great to see all that information and history about the Typhoon and Bolt Head and 266 .The Typhoon the pre runner to the wonderful Tempest ( Typhoon mk2) where they got everything right. The Typhoon was a beast of a fighter, the pilots were rightly very wary of it !

Compliments of the Season from New Zealand. Thank you for this little snippet on RAF Bolt Head and the Typhoons Sqns that operated from there during the WWll. All the best for 2024 and I look forward to seeing future clips from you like this.

I've been a subscriber for some time and having been raised in a wider "family" of WWll vets the subject is close to my soul. The vets were mostly ex Air Force and there are a number of family connections to the RAF both during and post WWll the result of which was my spending 32 yrs in the RNZAF hence why I enjoy your clips.

Great footage! The Typhoon is an awe inspiring aircraft. I met Typhoon pilot FO Ed McKay (CDN) on several occasions. A fine gentleman and a wonderful storyteller.

If all goes well, my full sized Hawker Typhoon will be completed in two years time , but because of my age it’s a struggle when I’m just a one man band ! Fuselage complete , plus tail just the wings to build!

Sorry, but every time your Gull perch flyer pops up with a different photograph, and I click on it expecting some content relating to it, but just get the same video about Typhoons and Bolt Head. I don't get it! Nick

My recent run of photos if they are Typhoons I try and link the film I produced about Typhoons, some photographs like the glider ones the film is in production at the moment. If you want to check out my channel please click the link. I try to vary the links to the film that is more recent or relevant to the photograph, I find interesting photographs which my subscribers may like. Its never intended to be annoying and I am sorry if you find it so. I am always trying to produce interesting content. Chris. www.youtube.com/@GULLPERCHFLYER/videos
