My dad and I would watch this together in 1957, when America was great!

This series cracks me up so often! Many times the characters, when they're leaving will say: "araña" - like it's supposed to be "goodbye". "Araña" is Spanish for spider! Hell, they're Canadian, what do you expect!

Why do they never come across a rattlesnake.

Because of where the Iroquois & Mohicans lived, outside the range of the Eastern diamondback or timber rattlers. A very few Mississauga rattlers live near Lake Ontario, both in New York State & southern Ontario. Away from the moderating effect of the lake, the winter's are just too damn cold for pit vipers to survive. Once in blue moon a rattlesnake is discovered in the Adirondacks, but tests show they were southern snakes that likely hitched a ride on a furniture truck. No poisonous snakes make camping the the Adirondacks a real pleasure. Until the bears come.

Were the characters friends with benefits?how come neither has a wife or squaw? Just asking y'all! Both are so well groomed for backwoodsmen.Almost as if they spent the day at the salon. Yes salon not saloon.i dont think either were interested in saloon girls and alcohol.

Dude!! I was wondering too if they are gay for each other. Such nice and wonderful men to both be single and there was several times the Indian would be like "maybe I'll get a sqaw after all one of these days" and hawk laughs like it's an inside joke.
