It’s 2006. This song is playing on your Myspace page while changing your top friends list and your little brother/sister is watching Suite Life Of Zack And Cody in the living room, life is good. 14 years later, in 2020 you’re probably drunk and randomly had a thought to look this song up to reminisce of the good times of your teenage years. I was 13 when this song came out. Time truly does fly.

Hawthorne Heights reminds me of a very dark time in my life. It was 2006-2007, I was 14 and a freshman in HS. My mom and dad left me alone for months living in my house(which is in the worst neighborhood in my entire state). I remember not having food in the cupboards and being so hungry. My 16 year old friend I grew up with (he was a crack-cocaine dealer) came over and bought me food for my house and a meal from McDonald's. He also showed me how to make my own money selling crack and I did go down that road for a while. It was an extremely lonely time in my life but I would have crazy ditching parties and drinking parties and noone cared so that was cool.

This was more "pop" mall rat alternative music then. The bands you listed were the mainstream version of emo/punk. The hipsters of today use to listen to this music and were scene kids. It's definitely cooler to listen to this music now than it was then. I was into punk/hardcore/ and 90s emotional hardcore when these bands were popular and they were always a guilty pleasure of mine. I remember never letting myself listen to Hawthorne heights when they were big. It felt like the most emo thing ever to me at the time and it was embarrassing to like emo music back in high school. Now i'm revisiting the music and it feels so nostalgic

Man, havent heard this tune in years. Saw these guys live in nashville back in 2007, they had such amazing energy. Casey was just walking around the venue talking to people before the show, super nice guy. Was devastated when I found out he died just a few months later.. such a talent lost so young.

It’s 2006, your hair is jet black, long, and sharp. You’re wearing your favorite pair of loose ripped jeans, dirty converse, and long sleeve under a short sleeve. You’re adding this song to your Myspace profile and as a ringtone for your Razr. You and your friends are chatting on MSN Messenger. You’re happy.

So...I listened to this song a lot after a difficult break up nearly 20 years ago. What's funny is I'd completely forgotten about it until I heard a similar riff in another song today and this popped into my head (but I had to track down what it was). Yeah, no, definitely a trained response at this point; brought back some feelings I haven't felt in a REALLY long time...made it to 0:57 and I'm peace out

My first emo CD I had was given to me by my older step brother and it was of course Hawthorne Heights. I use to listen to them everyday on the bus on the way to school. Can’t explain how much it this band means to me. I love you Shawn.

These colors will not change You change the way I see them These words will fade Can you explain Why you hate them We are the same She keeps repeating All that she needed She said she's right here She seems so distant Saying goodbye, this time The same old story Seeing you cry Makes me feel like saying sorry Just a few last hours We gotta make this count (we gotta make this count) We're counting backwards Just a few last hours We gotta make this count We're falling forwards She keeps repeating All that she needed She said she's right here She seems so distant Saying goodbye, this time The same old story Seeing you cry Makes me feel like saying sorry Saying goodbye, this time The same old story Seeing you cry Makes me…
