Floyd is selling a fight here. I have no doubt that he likes and respects Cotto. The fact of the matter is that if Floyd was put on the defensive, he would bring up all of Miguel faults and losses. We all knew Floyd would beat him. When that happens, Floyd goes into his "this guy is great, tune in" routine. He did the same shit with McGregor. I love Cotto in the ring. He is very talented and great to watch. He is a nice guy too. I think he knew the ppv numbers would be ok because of the Puerto Ricans supporting their guy. I'm glad it went this way tbh, I wouldnt want to see him trashing Miguel.

Study closely, kiddos, this highest expression of the "Sweet Science." For Floyd, like Ali, tailors his relation to the opponent. Namely, the more dangerous the opponent, the more humble and reverent. Cotto, Mayweather knew, would be one of his toughest opponents. Hence Mayweather's nonchalant approach, in addition to his constant allusions to "winning" in his bets. Mayweather is attempting to plant a seed of superiority in Cotta's head.

Floyd knew going into fight he was heavy favorite, so here he is putting on a camera cherade building up Cotto 2 make people think he has a chance in the fight when in reality Floyd knew he didn't. Great mind games not on Max & Cotto, but on the fans 2 get those extra ticket sales & PPV money. Floyd may come off as someone who's not very bright by the way he talks, but he's way smarter than most people give him credit for. You don't accrue a net worth $500 plus million by being dumb.
