Le PAEM est une initiative du Gouvernement du Sénégal à travers le Ministère de la Justice représenté par la Direction de l'Education et de la Protection Sociale (DESPS). Sa mise en œuvre s'inscrit dans la volonté du gouvernement de promouvoir un environnement politique et social qui protège les enfants contre toutes les formes d'exploitation et d'abus de la vision politique définie dans la Stratégie nationale pour la protection de l'enfance (SNPE). Le projet est financé par la coopération italienne à hauteur de 500 000 euros et bénéficie de l'appui technique du Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies aux droits de l'homme (HCDH). A ce titre, il vise à contribuer à l'abandon de la pratique de la mendicité et de la maltraitance des enfants, deux fléaux qui affectent le bien-être de centaines de milliers de jeunes enfants et adolescents au Sénégal.
PAEM is an initiative of the Government of Senegal through the Ministry of Justice represented by the Directorate of Education and Social Protection (DESPS). Its implementation is in line with the government's desire to promote a political and social environment that protects children against all forms of exploitation and abuse of the political vision defined in the National Strategy for Child Protection (SNPE). The project is funded by Italian cooperation to the tune of 500,000 euros and benefits from the technical support of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). As such, it aims to contribute to the abandonment of the practice of begging and child abuse, two scourges that affect the well-being of hundreds of thousands of young children and adolescents in Senegal.
