Pure class, elegance, and extraordinary talent = Dame Julie Andrews. She is a timeless treasure. Let's also give props to the genius of Richard Rodgers' melodies and the poetry of Oscar Hammerstein's lyrics. They are perhaps the greatest songwriting team ever.
My dad sang this to me as a little girl and now I sing it to my children. Thanks Julie.

When I hear the sweet melody of this song... it takes me back to the days of my childhood where we grew up watching The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins and wishing we could meet such an amazing person with a heavenly voice. God truly blessed this woman in order for her to bless us with her wonderful songs.

This song and Let's go fly a kite always maje me cry thinking of how Julie will never sing again and how beautifull TSOM and Mary Poppins is
so gorgeous she was. and yes it is too bad she lost her singing voice. it would be such a blessing to everyones ears if she still had it. and she could teach these current artists a thing or two.

Please give due credit to the arranger, the late Ian Fraser (he is conducting here). He was a wonderful writer: had a great sense of timing, was a strong orchestrator, and had a fine sense of counterpoint. Julie's ok here, too!

Sorry, that is André Previn. I knew him and wife #4 for years, and he conducted my uncle Harold Shapero's Classical Symphony many times in the 90s and introduced it to Europe. kzitem.info/news/bejne/poKsv5WNmmaXfIo
