Hi-Def Norfolk Southern’s Horseshoe Curve and Juniata Shops on 08/18/2014. First train on the curve was an e/b high and wide. A bunch of assembled and un-assembled Cat equipment up front and 10 GE export engines and their 4 axle trucks on flat cars trailing. (Units are destined for Mozambique via Lambert’s Point in Norfolk, Va. They are Cape gauge BB40-9WM for CLN, a Vale subsidiary in Mozambique (East Africa). Vale intends to use them in fours, pulling 10,000 ton plus coal trains from Moatize on the Zambezi River, to the port of Nacala on the Indian Ocean). Some good stuff at Juniata too. A UP Centennial, Executive Power, a few SD80macs, Spy shot of the NS GE rebuild with the Admiral cab. Video by Craig Sturgeon, Photos by Angelina and Craig, CP SD40-2 sound by Steve Hay.
