The Attorney who built everything up from scratch and no pre-nup? That makes zero sense to me. Maybe Alabama law stipulates more than 7 years of marriage to divide everything in half. He could've prevented all this drama IMHO. But you never know the other side of the story as they outgrew each other or she was just a gold digger?!

An attorney should know that a spouse is probably gonna get half of his stuff. I don't care what type of law you practice, this is common knowledge. If you don't get a prenup, you're playing with fire.

She probably won't get it. Alimony is very rarely paid out. She would have to be a stay at home mom the last 7 years who was previously making like 89k a year and even still it would likely get negotiated out and he'd just give her whatever whatever for it not to go to court. If she was working the whole time and they don't have kids together she's not getting a single penny.

When I heard this quote, "Men marry for love, Women marry for protection (assets)" I thought it wasn't true until you hear stories from men about their significant others left them for another man with money or the man lost his job and the woman doesn't want to hold down the fort until he gets back up. Guys, before you get on bended knee and decide to marry that woman please analyze her intentions. I'm not saying every woman is out for money but you want to make sure you don't get got. Also, for women that say they get married for love and not money, let me ask you this: Are you willing to stay by your man's side if he's down on his luck? Doesn't make a lot of money and/or trying to improve and do better?

"$300 for all 3 kids, that's definitely light" Has anyone ACTUALLY look at reality or they doing stuff in their minds? She's the custodial parent, she has to work regardless, she needs to be making her OWN money. Additionally how much do you actually spend per month on children? yall lying if you say it's even $200 a child for NEEDS. When I budget to lose weight and calorie cut, I spend like $200 a month on food, my clothing is already bought I have tons of it, sneakers etc. When those extra things come into play like sneakers, that's ONCE a month nearing school you may drop $300. I know I have a 17 year old whom I use to school shop for every year as a child. Yall don't spend that much for kids. When you start including other things like health insurance and unforeseen extra's then it gets a little up there but that's not daily or monthly (aside from insurance) which she should have herself on her plan. You spend the most for your children when they are babies due to needing diapers, milk, doctor visits, clothing weekly and monthly. In my view the court should not be involved in relationships at all, all they do is find the way they can benefit and force narratives to benefit themselves and then later on it became biased towards men. Child support should end. Keep your legs clothes or marry the men you have kids with so he can provide. Those are the 2 options.

Fascinating video, Let's stop taking relationship and family for granted. I have battled depression since my wife left me. I have tried all I can to make her see that I love her with everything I am made of but she has insisted on leaving. This has made me so empty, and I do not know what to do. I can barely function properly at work. I am frustrated and miserable. I really miss her.

Your pain resonates with me. Letting go of someone dear to your heart is an immense challenge. I found myself in a comparable situation when my 12-year-long relationship ended, and I struggled to accept it. Despite my efforts to reconcile, I eventually turned to a spiritual counselor for guidance, which eventually led to a reunion. I'm now filled with joy.

I don’t know where your faith lies, however you should continue on your purpose and keep doing your work. Don’t allow this to keep your heart from healing. I’m never the one to tell someone let go of their marriage cause marriage is a till death do you part union. Work on getting on course. Stop letting her know you miss her. Stop calling her. Stop chasing her. Cause when you chase something, it runs away from you. Keep your prayers up. Know that whatever it is blocking y’all union (look at the foundation and see where the crack lies) will be dismissed. Hope she comes to her senses before she ruins her life. (Because the person that breaks the covenant is usually the one that suffers) Please get better. The Lord can do anything if we go to him with petitions. He will unblock.
