As a Turkish citizen, I don't like my government's move as well but some of the things that Enes mentioned are not correct at all like the government only shut down the schools that were owned or controlled by the Islamic group that Enes was a member of. This all happened after the Islamic group tried a military coup. I am not blaming Enes for the military stuff but even before than this group of people had a huge power on governmental stuff like they would promote their members instead of the deserved ones.

I wrote a comment saying how he missed to mention why erdogan decided to go ape shit and all but switch alliances from NATO to Russia (which is a complete 180). Now why would the second largest contributor to NATO and one that's in good standing with the Muslim world go Stalin all of a sudden (a bit hyperbole, but you get it). It's because he realised he was being played by the Americans, who not only outright support and arm the only terror group thats a existential threat to turkey (as we know it now) but also decided to (obvs the Russians gave him proof, he wouldn't burn bridges for no reason) strengthen ties to the one country he should be opposing. People are stupid, but I hope there not stupid enough to think erdogan ( a man with no mental issues, and isn't/wasn't considered a dictator act out like this all of a sudden) would just shoot himself in the foot if it wasn't a sink or swim situation.

Drew, there’s so much more to this story than you’re presenting. Enes Bey and his entire family are closely associated with a religious movement accused of coordinating the coup he mentions. This matter is very complicated and I think only Turks can really understand it. His citizenship was taken away because he made comments in support of a ‘terrorist movement’. Let’s not oversimplify this. I have experience with the movement he’s affiliated with and I am attest that there is a coordinated effort internationally that makes me very uneasy. In many ways it seems like a cult despite the passive facade it presents. To clarify, I’m not Turkish and I’m Christian. The point I’m trying to make is that this video is very one-aided.

You are right, there is one very important thing there. First of all, I am not Turkish and I do not have any close relations to Turkey, but I did some research, and found out he is a member of a religious terroristic organisation. That organisation has many schools, universities and etc. in different countries, which brainwash the people studying in these. I almost applied for a such school, but at last moment I catched something suspicious there. I spoke to someone who studied there, and after listening to him, I realized there's something more behind it... Also, there was a coup in Turkey on 15 July 2016, in result of which around 250 civilians were killed. You can find more and more and more stuff about the coup, just look it up...

Kanter is a Gullenist who hated Erdogan. He supported a group who wanted to destabilized a peaceful and progressive country and be like Iraq and Libya. Western countries hated Erdogan bcos he is not a follower/not a puppet. He is the only muslim leader who speaks truth in front of United Nation Convention about Israeli occupation in Palestine and how Israeli deliberately stole piece by piece land of Palestinian. Western media portrays him now as a Bad leader and now accusing other stuffs just to make him bad.. Kanter has been vocal about being anti-gov't not for the sake of Turkish people but bcos of the system that has been built to the brain of Gullenist Movement, and this movement is a cancer to the progress of a country. Turkey requested Gullen to be tried in Turkey but USA is protecting him.

@Drew Binsky I am Turkish myself and I got to say that this video was really disappointing to see, especially coming from you Drew, and here is why: You said on numerous occasions that you hate politics but by uploading this video you have actively participated in politics regarding the country of Turkey. I am sure you don’t or didn’t know this, but I still want to point out the imo major mistake in this video regarding Turkish politics. Before giving Enes Kanter a voice on your channel to propagate the situation regarding Turkey, you should’ve done your research first. You should’ve at least been objective by also covering the other side of the story. “He has been branded a terrorist by Turkey” but why though? What is the reason behind this? How do people in Turkey feel about this? Etc. I understand it is an interview, but besides this you should’ve added the other side of the story so the viewer can make up their own opinions based on both sides of the story, or at the very least be made aware that there is another side to this story. It would’ve been the responsible thing to do. Enes Kanter is wanted for being a ‘terrorist’ because he is a member of a cult called ‘FETO’ being led by Fethullah Gulen, not only did he admit to this but he is also actively propagating according to this organization's interests. Yes, even in this video he is subtly giving a skewed view of Turkey which affects the viewers' opinions both consciously and subconsciously. Being a simpatizer alone doesn’t qualify for being wanted or prosecuted in Turkey, there are many FETO simpatizers that haven’t been prosecuted because they weren’t active. These people have to actively be involved with FETO for the Turkish state to look for prosecution. In the case of Kanter it is propaganda. Propaganda is not something to be underestimated by the way, terrorist attacks are actually means to further propaganda, not the other way around. If they have an active and powerful way to propagate without having to resort to terror attacks actually shows how much more powerful they are compared to a terror group like ISIS. The group FETO had been infiltrating every part of Turkish society, military and politics for 30 to 40 years. They even had their own tv channels, newspapers and other media and even a bank. That's how organized they were. At first they were working together with Erdogan’s government, but eventually in 2012, the government was looking for a couple of reforms in the education system. This did not go well for the FETO group, because they were really well organized and there were these education centers outside of official schools that prepared students for acceptance tests into universities and other various types of official schools. In order for students to save money, the government looked to give these services within the official government schools. This was their main way to manipulate and recruit new members to their organization, and this had been very effective for 4 decades. They were not about to lose this strategic asset, so they started an offensive. What Enes refers to regarding the corruption scandal in 2013 is called ‘17 - 25 aralik’. There were a few recordings of Erdogan and some politicians being involved in corruption. However after technical analysis it was clear that the recordings as well as the rest of the evidence was fake. It was all a ploy to oust Erdogan’s government. They were basically trying to repeat what they did a couple of years ago in the form of ‘Ergenekon’ and ‘Balyoz’ trials, in which many people including journalists, politicians and military personnel were jailed even though they were innocent. They were found guilty in court through fake evidence as well as judges being part of the FETO group. The goal behind these trials was to oust people from important places so FETO could place their own agents in high places, and sadly it worked. They are a clandestine group working behind closed doors and they became so powerful that they almost took over the whole country. This is not just terrorism, this goes way beyond terrorism. Terrorist groups like ISIS and others around the world couldn’t even dream of achieving one ten’th of what FETO was able to achieve. Sure ISIS was able to seize territory but it was clear from the start that it wouldn’t last. FETO on the other hand was looking to take of a whole country. Thankfully my country got saved from the brim. The state started ousting FETO members from important institutions starting in 2014 (iirc), eventually FETO started losing so much power that they decided to go for a Kamikaze style everything or nothing attempt, which resulted in the failed coup d’etat of June 15’th 2016. In which we lost 251 of our citizens and 2196 of our citizens were injured. The FETO aligned junta even had the audacity to bomb our parliament building, which is something that doesn’t happen even during a full war between countries. After this event, even more FETO members were exposed and they were either put to jail if they were involved in a specific crime, or ousted for being a member. In Turkey FETO is unanimously being described as a terrorist organization, whether they are pro- or anti-Erdogan, somethings just transcends ideologies and partisanship. Regarding Enes Kanter, it is extremely sad to see Kanter like this. I would’ve loved to have yet another successful NBA player representing my country, playing for the national team. I want to like the man and support him but I can’t do that in good conscience, especially when taking his support for FETO into account. Not only does he support them but he actively propagates for them sadly. Fethullah Gulen, the leader of FETO is regarded the same way a terrorist in Turkey, like Bin Laden was regarded a terrorist in the USA. And Enes Kanter actively supports and follows Gulen. Imagine a big name in the US that supports Bin Laden like he does Gulen, how would the people react to that? The fact that Enes Kanter got facetime in mainstream media does not give him any credibility either. Mainstream media and media in general nothing but a mere propaganda outlet. “If you don’t follow the news you are ill informed, if you do follow the news you're mis-informed”, it is a lose-lose situation unless you fact check everything you hear. ‘News’ in which we are experiencing it today is unfortunately an ‘Orwellian’ notion in this case. This becomes evident in the major contrasts between Fox news and CNN regarding US domestic politics. News regarding foreign policy is no different, even though both Fox and CNN may be reporthing it the same way, there is always another side to the story. This has become especially evident regarding the event in Venezuela in recent years. It is all about “Manufacturing consent” (look up this term) and in this case Enes Kanter is being used to portray Turkey or the leadership of Turkey in a certain (negative in this case) light.

Fetö'nün ne kadar tehlikeli bir örgüt olduğunu, hâlâ bir umutla tüm imkanlarını nasıl seferber ettiklerini görmemiz için çarpıcı bir video. Mesele siyasetten çok öte. Şu an bu fetöcülerle mücadeleye destek vermemiz lazım.
