Some things, as cool as they may seem to be, can backfire you once you go for it until you physically feel the pain of needing to go through with it, because now it’s part of the show. And these things can be really simple. I grew up in the seventies. I wanted to become a musician after I the band ‘Sweet’ when I was 5 years old, and two years later after I saw Alice Cooper I knew it. No more doubts. I wanted to have long hair, I wanted to wear clothes with glitters and I definitely wanted high heeled boots. The higher the better. Well….. growing my hair long was the easy part. I’m 56 years old and my hair is still long. No regrets here. I forgot about the glitter stuff, but when I was 41 and I gained some weight, I needed new clothes to wear and someone gave me a glitter suit with a matching jacket. After each gig my neck was red and it felt like I wore a jacket made of razor blades. I didn’t wear that thing for a long period of time. It was hell! But then I finally got my high heeled boots and I was sooooo happy!!! Not for long though. It took my personal assistant (not kidding) half an hour per boot (!!!) to tie the laces and when I finally was ready to go to the stage I felt like a grandma. I had to be so extremely careful all the time. I couldn’t run around anymore, I could only stand still behind my mic stand (that’s probably why ‘Sweet’ didn’t move) and accidentally stepping on a guitar cable could potentially lead to your death, because you would strain your ankle, fall on the floor or even literally off the stage and break your neck. Showbizz is DANGEROUS!!! Hear me, kids? DAAAAAANGEROUS!!!!! 😰
