This song is dedicated to J.D. Mair and his family. Stephanie Ricks, J.D.'s sister in law, wrote this song a few years ago and it became J.D.'s favorite song. He played or sang it every night to his kids as he put them to bed. His obituary is as follows:
Our sweet James Darrell Mair (J.D.) of Draper, Utah was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on April 19, 2022 after a tragic accident. His family and friends are devastated and he will never be forgotten.
J.D. was born in Heber, Utah to his loving parents Joe and Leanna Mair on February 15,1979. He was an athletic, charismatic, and thoughtful young boy. Growing up, he loved to play sports and spend time with his close friends. J.D. was a State Champion in wrestling at Wasatch High School. He also played baseball and football, he loved all sports! Upon graduation, he served a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Louisville, Kentucky. He made great friendships that have lasted a lifetime. While serving, JD was called to be the assistant to the president shortly after arriving in the mission. His testimony of the Gospel and of the Savior grew while serving and he learned important life changing principles. This helped JD be prepared to become a great husband, father, and Disciple of Christ.
After serving his mission, J.D. decided to attend college at UVSC. It is here that he met the love of his life, Lindsey (Orme) Mair. It was love at first sight for her, and he just took a little extra convincing. A few short months later they were married in the Salt Lake City Temple.
After getting married, J.D. and Lindsey moved to Logan, Utah. J.D. worked full time while finishing his business degree from Weber State University and helping to put Lindsey through school as well. In 2008, they had their first baby Dawson. From there, the babies just kept coming. Jada, Dylan, Ashlynn, and Josie were not too far behind. J.D. was a family man in every sense of the word. He loved his family fiercely. His favorite pastime was to play and coach baseball with his boys and wrestle around the family room floor with his kids. He secretly loved his BYU/Utah rivalry with Dawson and never missed an opportunity to gloat when BYU had the win. He took his wife on a date at least once a week and treated her like a queen. He never missed an opportunity to tell her she was beautiful or to serve her in some special way. He loved being with his nieces and nephews as well, and would often show up to their games with a bag of goodies and cheer louder than anyone. His family was his life.
J.D. was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved the Gospel with his whole heart. He held many callings and was currently serving in the bishopric in the Corner Canyon 4th ward. He found immense joy in connecting and serving the people he loved so much.
What separated J.D. from others was his contagious smile and his ability to touch the lives of everyone that he came in contact with. He had no judgement. Everyone he met became a friend. He would serve anyone that he could, constantly looking for opportunities to connect with others. In his 43 years of life, J.D. touched the lives of many and left his imprint on the world.
J.D. is survived by his beautiful wife Lindsey, his 5 wonderful children, Dawson (13), Jada (11), Dylan (9), Ashlynn (7), Josie (4), loving parents Joe and Leanna Mair, and many other family members and friends who were so special to him.
J.D., we love you so much and our hearts are broken without you here on this earth. We can’t wait to be with you again. Families are Forever!

LYRICS:
My Savior, my Redeemer, my brother, my friend.
He Lives. He Lives.
He died for me on Calvary, washed my sins with perfect love.
And I know He's not giving up on me, for I feel Him up above.
For He lives. He lives.
When I feel alone, no one there to understand.
My knees hit the ground, and He reaches out His hand.
For He will never let me down, although I've often lost my way.
For He knows of my eternal worth and I look forward to that day where I can thank Him. For He lives. He lives.
When I leave this frail existence and His arms encircle me,
I'll rejoice in His presence, throughout all eternity.
Home in the arms of my Savior, my Redeemer, my brother, my friend.
For He lives.
