My first experience was in dark souls 3, when I was playing COD. I had no idea how to play, and I tried for 3 hours and gave up for a year, and then tried again, and won after 4. I made my way to firelink shrine, attacked Hawkwood the deserter thinking he was an enemy and got myself stuck for another 3 hours. The souls series is my favorite of all time, and it all started there.

My first real experience with a souls game was purchasing DSR with some birthday money from my grandma. We were staying at a hotel that weekend and I swear Undead Burg still smells like pool chlorine to me. I got stuck on the bridge Taurus and put the game down for a while, after which I mistakenly purchased Sekiro thinking it was Ghost of Tsushima. Loved the game, and chewed through it bit by bit, inspiring me to go back to Dark Souls, then beat Demon’s Souls, then Elden Ring. Still working on DS2 before I try DS3 and can’t seem to get the hang of BloodBorne, but I can safely say my brain has been reprogrammed to just not enjoy non-soulslikes as much anymore!

I played Dark Souls on Xbox 360 after hearing about it from my buddies who described it as being one of the hardest games they’ve ever played. Being the challenge seeker I am, I played it, got stuck at flooded New Londo Ruins because I had no idea where to go and dropped the game for about a year. 😂 Thankfully I got back into it after watching my buddy play it. Seeing that he had 50k souls was incredible to me at the time. One of my most favourite areas in video games is in Dark Souls at Ash Lake. The scenery coupled with the OST is absolutely perfect. Dark Souls is truly an immaculate game.

I actually gave up on Dark Souls (first Souls experience as well) in the Undead Parish. The big guy with the magician on top of the balcony felt like it was too much an not worth it. My first souls game was Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition on the XBox. I remember it feeling so different from other adventure games that I didn't really understand it. So after dying a bunch of times in the same place not very far from the start of the game I set it aside. And it sat next to my other games for about a year or two until I got the itch to play it again after seeing a speedrun of that same game (I had never seen a speedrun before). The person playing it made it look so easy that I had to try it again. Now I'm still pretty bad at them, but I buy every from software game

I don't remember exactly when I started playing DS1, but it was a while after release. I know I first experienced it by seeing LobosJr doing crazy runs like whip-only and other stuff, so I had some messy familiarity with the game. But still, my first playthrough was a loooong, achingly slow slog as crept around every corner wary of ambushes, my heart pounding the whole time. I ended up skipping Manus alone out of all the bosses because my first few tries were such resounding defeats - but I got him after.

My first Dark Souls experience was a playthrough with my buddy and his brother. At first, it seems the experience is ruined because I ran through with people who knew all the secrets and the game would be too easy. However the way they walked me through the game was absolutely enjoyable and immersive. They would literally just follow me and tell me lore about certain areas. They only shared secrets or hidden paths unless I asked or it was necessary for an important item. I had 0 clue what to expect. Probably was most interested in seeing him get crushed.. I picked up the game as well and we had both progressed through the together. We bonded pretty well over it. I would wake up early before school and think about playing when I got home. We even bought the wiki book from GameStop. Sure i died a lot but I was exploring and in love. From designing my character to learning how to unlock shortcuts and Logan’s spells. I built some of the most nostalgic memories in my life in this game and got to do it in a unique way. I would search for books in the library that even resembled the drug like addiction I had to the souls world. Was a souls OG ever since. I had beaten the boss that had caused me so much pain, I then killed isshin after a dozen attempts. After beating sekiro; I was reminded on what makes souls-games so special, It isnt the difficulty. My first experience with souls games was Demon's Souls when I was still a child, I was 8 years old in fact. At the time, I wasn't really good at games so I never actually left Boletaria, even though I probably played it for at least 10 hours and still enjoyed it. The thing I liked to do the most though, was not actually playing the game, but reading the wikis and helping my uncle when he got stuck (that's probably how I started learning English, it's not my native language), this kind of shaped me as a gamer, to this day, I still play my games with the help of wikis and trying to minmax everything. I didn't beat Demon's Souls at that time. My interest in the franchise (it wasn't one at the time) died a bit until Dark Souls was released and my interest reignited. After beating Dark Souls, I had to go back to Demon's Souls to conquer the monsters that I feared back then. I then went on to play every souls game (but Sekiro) and, for each one of them, I have special memories I hold close to me.

My first souls was the wonderous DS1 in 2012 or so, after i heard from countless meme posts on reddit saying about how hard it is. I gave it try after the dlc dropped and boy i suprised of how hard it was. Not knowing where to go and everything wasnt spoiled. I learned through the world and never gave up. The combat was rough almost compared to Sekiro, as for learning how combat flow works. I lost countless souls and died countless times. The worst part of getting through the game was the capra demon to go to the depths. My god a small room that the dogs will gank you almost everytime was horrible. I wanted to quit but never did because i was so fascinated with the game. All of the bosses took so many tries but in the end it was worth it, and having the success to beating a boss you struggle with is truly amazing. Adrenline flowing. Heart pumping. Ever since DS1 i have played every fromsoft game excluding Demons Souls. DS1 will always be in my heart closely as well as Bloodborne.

My first souls like experience was bloodborne, the game was free on the ps plus, the theme of the game stood out to me as i love that aesthetic, the music, the dark and eery atmosphere combined with my lack of knowledge about the souls games made me want to jump right into it. At the time I had NO idea what a souls-like was, but right as I jumped into the game I knew that it was different from anything I had previously played, no tutorial, no help, nothing. It was a hard game to learn, I was also much younger than I am rn, therefore it was also scary, each step I took in Yharnam was an act of bravery to be fair, the enemies, the maze like level design, all of these factors combined made bloodborne extremely suffocating yet enjoyable to me, after many attempts I got to the cleric beast, I failed many times and then I found out about consumable items, molotovs to be more specific. I attempted the boss once again, used all of my molotovs and ALMOST killed the beast; knowing that my next attempt would be much harder without the help of fire items, I dropped the game, it was too much for me back then. Years later I came back to the game and I loved it, it was much easier than last time for some reason, and after beating bloodborne I bought Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 1 and Elden Ring, in this exact order.

The next day, i killed them and after defeating clerical beast, which was ez, i didnt know how to continue so i finally never played the game anymore. Daam thats pretty sad(now is my fav game tho)

my first experience with dark souls. i had just been broken up with after a 5 year relationship, i was super depressed and had no motivation to do anything. i took the game up as a challenge, something to overcome. i had always heard how it was very hard and i thought it would be a good confidence boost if i were to beat it (kinda cringe but whatever). i loved the level design and the way it relied on general gaming knowledge but also subverted normal gaming expectations of how things should work. seeing anor londo for the first time was an absolutely mind blowing experience. probably the best feeling ive ever had in a game. when i finally beat gwyn i chose to link the fire, and toward the middle of that cinematic my game crashed. i missed out on the ending song unfortunately. went back and beat it in ng+ a couple weeks later with the DLC and everything. i got a dark souls tattoo a couple years later, a darksign in thin outlines on my right forearm. dark souls serves as a permanent good memory for me, and will always be a reminder of the things i have overcome

My first souls game was bloodborne and at first I got my ass kicked but I started to really get ahold of the combat by the time I made it past cathedral ward. I even killed shadows of yharnam on my first attempt and I’ve beaten bloodborne more times than any other souls game. for me it’s the easiest. Even though bloodborne was my first souls experience it wasn’t as traumatic as you would think.

My first experience was bloodborne on ps+ and I didn't know you could get weapons from the dream and spent hours killing the werewolf in the ward and all the enemies around the bonfire before quitting, 3rd playthrough I actually figured it out:)

My first souls game was dark souls 3. It was an absolute mess. I had no idea about builds so I ended up have level 70 visor and nothing else. But I pressed on until I beat nameless after 1000+ attempts and I screamed so loud I got a noise complaint. Best souls moment of my life

My first souls experience may not be what's expected but; it's early 2010's and PewDiePie is playing dark souls 2. Me, being the little guy I was. Wanted dark souls 2 for Christmas. Little did I know when I got to GameStop that day, would they say they DIDNT HAVE IT, and would have to preorder. So my guardian at the times, does. AND THEN IT NEVER CAME I WAS LIED TO. thank you

Ik it’s to late to win 50$. But my first experience with dark souls was rough. I fell for a lot of noob mistakes. I leveled up strength a lot when I was welding a lightning spear and didn’t know it wouldn’t scale. Got stuck on O&S and couldn’t progress. It got me to get Dark Souls two which was the first one I beat. It gave me the courage to go back and beat the first one. I was able to beat it after talking to some homies who suggested using magic or pyromancy. That and finding out I could get the black knight weapons helped me coast through the game. I have a yearly tradition to go back and beat the games once a year to just make sure I still got it. I’ve beat 1,2,3 I’m on the third final boss in Elden ring and want to play Bloodborn and Sekkiro. Much love to fans of Dark Souls games!

dark souls 1 introduced me to souls. i remember how my father gifted it to me for christmas, both of us having no idea what was ahead of me. during my first hours in the game i mustve collected around 200+ deaths, quitted several times and took breaks for several days. but i was determined, and oh lord did it feel good to finally beat the game after 40+ hours

My first souls game was DS1. I had never heard or souls games before and it was great. I died a lot but the sense of mystery as you explore and the pride you feel when you beat a boss is why I continued playing the souls games.

I started off with DS3 and it was a hell of an experience. I heard somewhere that it was a "hard game" which somehow drew me to it. It was also one of my first full size games all in all so it really defined my taste in video games. I took about 95 hours to beat the game with countless struggles and many bosses that were a big roadblock but I pulled through in the end and loved it. Also I played with mouse and keyboard because I didn't have a controller and didn't think it would be much better (lol)

The trauma playing The first DS game!!! I genuinely told my therapist about it, I went in thinking the game wasn't as hard as people said, I killed a bunch of skeletons easily so just kept going, the first real boss... I heard the bells ringing when people beat them, little did I know my time fighting them and those ringing bells would haunt my dreams, every time I died and heard the bells ring out for someone else I lost a part of my soul, it genuinely killed me to know I was still stuck in the same place, i would level up, go back and try again, i think i was roughly 25 hours Into the game before i did it. I was so hyped to get them done that I finished the full game, I was determined! Definitely the hardest game I have ever played

My first souls game was Elden Ring. I've always loved open-world games, and Elden Ring quickly became one of my favourite games ever. Because of how open it is, I never felt like I just had to "get through it" and grind a boss, although, now that I've gotten all the steam achievements and explored every area, I find it hard to go back to the game.

My first experience in dark souls remastered was that i was completely lost in the firelink and had no idea where to go, I asked my friend who played a lot of dark souls before for a guide and he told me to kill havel at the begginging, it was not a great experience tbh but the havel ring helped out a lot later on :)

My first souls game was demon's souls, got both ds1 and demon souls after eading about them. Didn't get too far with demon's souls, it was just too challenging... I don't know why, but ds1 just clicked with me, I still remember my build from that time, a mix of giants and havels armour with a great sword, heavy rolling my way to victory! From there I've done everything the souls series has to offer, except the remastered demon's souls, would need a PS5 for that!

My very first run of dark souls, I did just about everything wrong. kept running down into the sunken city area with the ghosts, thought i was just supposed to just avoid them since "well dark souls is supposed to be hard so maybe this is just a normal thing" Eventually I figured out i was supposed to go to the undead burg and the rest of the game whooped my ass but atleast i was doing it correctly this time. I also accidentally killed andre because i hit my trigger button with a fully maxxed out Great Club. Not my best moment back then but I've beaten the game like 20 times by now and will probably do it again now because of this video

I played dark souls in 2012 when my friend came over to stay the night, I borrowed it from him and it was literally the greatest experience. Learning from my mistakes, beating bosses felt better than any other game. I was trash back then, I had to have my friend beat gwyn for me I was that bad. 10 years later, I've probably beaten it solo over 100 times, I'm actually playing right now lol there is no experience better than dark souls.

My 1st time playing a souls game was demon souls in ps3. It wasn't bad cuz i like hard games but it didn't hook me either. I thought i would love it but i beat like 3-5 bosses and quit the game. Dark Souls 1 was where it all clicked for me. Even though i still believe that souls combat was pretty stale and boring. I couldn't ignore the fact that the world is build so incredibly well and now i love almost every installment.

Well to be honest I love it DS2 was my first one and I love it but it was full of bs I’ve never seen so much bs in my life I could swear that dam poison cave ending in a 3v1 was just bs and I didn’t run it I fought all the way, slowly and methodically to be there with enough heals, I plan this thing and my first taste of bs was when the dam pigs behind the cats shack beat my ass 😅
