Just for those CrossFit fans who don't also watch UFC, "send me location" is a reference to Dagestani former UFC champ Khabib Nurgmagomedov who would say "send me location" when any fighter was brought up as a potential challenger. It meant, any time, any place, let's go. This has become a meme within UFC fandom and I love the cross-over between my 2 favourite sports

I don’t think cuts should happen at this point as the cost of going to the games is on the athletes and many are not sponsored! If CrossFit covered the cost for the athletes I can see them going with cuts and for in only the spending aspect it being justified due to the athlete not loosing there own funds when currently many of this years rookies and new athletes are going to be looking possibly to get some for year to come because they are going to the games. Also they all pay to stay the whole time and if they don’t make it through the cuts they are out money and that really could hurt them in many ways! Not to mention the ability to show there skill and there willingness to fight to potential sponsors. Also being being among the top athletes for the whole duration of the games only will Progress the athletes knowledge and potential plans for training as they will get to learn from each event and compare and contrast, That opportunity will be taken if their cut. It’s very different when you watch from the sidelines guessing what the reality of an event is and actually doing it and taking all that with you back home to prepare for the following year! I don’t agree with cuts as a fan of the sport we go and or watch from home expecting a full weekend of CrossFit and opportunity the athletes might gain from being there and seeing it in the following year! A way to combat the judges tiredness is to pay them and have enough to run the event as a fully fair event! No other sport cuts in the middle of a competition! JMO ❤️CrossFit

I agree with the cuts. It just adds one more challenge for athletes. It's almost like making it to the NFL and starting in the NFL. Two big differences, yeah you're a great football player, but as of now you're on the practice squad. As a fan, I really agree. It gets monotonous watching 3+ indv. and team heats for days on days. Like baseball was before the pitch clock, I don't think we will really see the benefits of this for 1 or 2 seasons. However, once we get used to "quicker" events, we wont want it back to the way it was. Also, let them try something new. See what happens. We always complain about CrossFit not making changes. They seem to be at least trying, and they are seemingly transparent with it. It's not very often you see the face of a business come out and own a decision and also add clarity to it. Usually it's just a post or email that ends with "Sorry for any inconvenience"

you wanna do some real cuts and some real intense viewing for us? Do some matchups like NFL or NBA. Like, last event on saturday is a face to face between 1x30, 2x29, 3x28 and only the winner of the heat goes on. Imagine a sprint like this. 200m run, 5 heavy snatch, 10 heavy clean, 15 RMU, 20 burpee box jumps over for time, you win your heat? advance. Sunday, leaderboard is cleared up and then we have the finals if the classified. That would be slightly fair than the cuts going on today, because the test of real strenght dont occur on the first days, so how can you cut half of them if you havent tested all abilities the same way?

It bothers me greatly that at all times there are 4 times as many athletes in the team division than on the individual side. And for my money the individuals are at least 4 times as important for the sport than the teams are. I'm tired of seeing some of my favorite athletes go after 2 days, because of a bad start or disadvantaged planning. Comebacks are awesome and seeing an athlete bounce from 38th to 12th is an awesome story even though they might not place podium. Instead of cuts, if you want the exclusivity, then give less spots out in the first place. If you make it to the Super Bowl, you are in the game. You don't get cut halfway, or before the 4th quarter.

The easy answer to the cuts is to make the Open matter, reduce the overall number of athletes that progress to the 1/4 finals, then further reduce the overall number of athletes that progress to the semifinals, and ultimately reduce the total number of athletes that go to the Games. Make the Games a 20 male and 20 female athlete field and do away with the cuts.
