@@SoundOfFreedom35 Exactly, there are several different types of gloves that could be worn. Gloves that work in the same way that a wetsuit does in which water goes through and a thin layer of water is between the neoprene and the skin or dry gloves, which are water proof. Dry gloves are better for the hands because your hands and feet are two of the biggest losses of body heat after the head.

And what's funny about all these athletes being sponsored by red bull is that most of them almost never even drink the crap. "Would you like to help us sell poison to people? You don't have to pretend to drink it, but you do have to do 15 takes in an ice tunnel."
@crestothegecko6279

@@momerathsoutgabe-mt1gcAnd what's even funnier about that is that the athletes are the prime targets for energy drinks. Barely anyone else needs that insane spike in energy that caffeine gives but they sell it to everyone anyways because it's addictive. Seriously an office worker or someone else who is sedentary for most of the day doesn't need energy drinks. They need naps and meditation. Caffeine just gives you a secure source of buyers. One of the worst stories I’ve ever heard was about a glacier. A group of young people were training on how to become ice mountaineers, and it was near the end of the course. The top three students were allowed to traverse the glacier ahead of the group, and were tasked with setting up the campsite for everyone else. One of the students went to get water from a point they’d passed on the way up. He should have been back after just a few minutes, but he hadn’t returned after almost 15 minutes. The other two students started to worry, and went back down to start looking for him. They met the group just as they were getting to where they had heard water running from within a fissure. They started to understand why they hadn’t found their friend. He’d slipped into the fissure. A rescue effort was began immediately, and a helicopter was called immediately. They had no luck of getting a response with their yelling into the void, so they attached a small camera to a rope, and sent it down. After 300 or so feet of rope had been sent down, they still hadn’t seen or heard anything that would make them believe they were close to finding their friend, or even the bottom of the fissure he’d fallen into. Ever since then, I can’t look at any glacier pictures or videos and not remember that story.

It's called "rolling" in the kayak world, and most intermediate kayakers can do it (myself included). However doing it intentionally and executing it perfectly on a complicated "feature" like that (we call the more difficult stretches of a river "features"), is impressive. I think they had some trouble since they had to edit so heavily. I think this is one of their most unintelligent ideas. Looked cool though.

@@AD-bb9npWhy is this an unintelligent idea? I mean even if he doesn't paddle he will just be carried through the corridor by the flowing water - and there is only one way to go even if he didn't steer he'll still end up going the exact same way. I bet even I could do that and I have never been in a rowing boat before.

@@oonmm water is a powerful powerful thing. If there is a tree or overhanging rock on a river you can get get flipped and pinned underwater. The river washes you into an obstacle then you’re stuck. The current can flip you and keep you pinned under an obstacle. In this case if that would happen, no one knows where he is pinned and even if they did it would be a chore getting to him to help him in time.

@@p-mac5969 Sure it may be a chore to get him loose again, but we all have to do chores every day. It's not a big problem really. They also have cameras so that they can see where he gets stuck, so he doesn't have to wait that long for help either - so he doesn't need to worry about getting a cold from waiting too long.

@oonmm , yeah maybe. Or maybe he needed a lot of help even though he is a professional.
