I think what you meant to say is that Edradour is not open to the public on *Sundays!* They also don't allow any children including babies into any part of the distillery, not even the shop or the bathrooms to allow the mothers to change the baby's nappy. We arrived a few years ago, intending to spend a few hundred pounds on some Signatory Cask Strength bottles but not only would they not let my daughter-in-law to change the baby's nappy, the woman at the door was really rude about it as well. We jumped back in the car and drove 3 minutes down the road to Blair Athol, where they were so kind and welcoming. I had never heard of Cladach. I had to look it up. A Diageo Malt Blend of Caol Ila, Lagavulin, Oban, Talisker, Clynelish and Inchgower. Interesting but really expensive. BTW, I saw the price of the Caol Ila 18 on your video for £200!!! I was very sad to hear it was discontinued. However, this is one of those times when Israel's high prices works to your advantage. You see, Caol Ila 18 is still available in Israel and sold for around 600-650 shekels (£130-140). For years the price was so expensive that bottles just remained on the shelves gathering dust. However, back in London with prices now £200+, and the stores here not having updated their prices yet, 600 shekels is now a great price. I've already bought two bottles. 😁😁😁😁

Edradour has not been open for several years now. We like Cladach from our blind tastings. Great to find old prices. Similar for Craigellachie 23 here.

Nice, thanks for sharing...I wonder how the BIY of Blair Athol did taste....so many distilleries in Speyside & such beautiful landscape going South too, enjoy ! (I will never forget my journey there & my stay at a nice B&B near Pitlochry when visiting Aberfeldy, great place, and I do enjoy my BIY Aberfeldy 18 yo CS/F.F. Sherry, though it wasn't cheap at all....my self treat for the 2018 journey (shopped a bit but only bought 1 BIY out of 6 distilleries visited...

Pretty distillery grounds. Stayed at the Athol Place hotel at the top of the hill behind the distillery. Had the flight of all the Blair Athol's and did the hand fill that was red wine casks. Oh remember your Dad is a bells fan. Did you see the "Hart of Bell's" shrubbery in the front of the grounds ?

Great video guys! Your viewers are all enjoying this trip vicariously through you. I’m there with you and Deppa sipping my Talisker 10. Btw have you tried and 11 year old special release and how did you enjoy it? We have it in Canada now for $190 CAD at the LCBO.

@@WhiskyMystery The last time I was in the visitor shop (2018) and we had the opportunity to make a tour. But sadly we had not that much time in Pitlochry. It was just a stop for about an hour. But I see a group of people who made the tour through the distillery. I just saw Andrew Symington in the shop and I spoke with his German wife a bit😊 At the end I regretted it a bit that we did not make a tour.

Ha ha ....🤣😂🤣😂I visited Craigellachie! It was also a Sunday. I just drove in and parked outside the office. I took some photos of the fantastic semi-outside stills and then spotted a guy checking a tank in the court yard, so I walked over and asked if he minded me taking photos as I was a BIG fan. He told me he was the weekend manager and was happy to see me. We chatted for about 30 minutes. (I was too shy to ask for a photo of us together). Keep the videos coming. My wife and I are really enjoying them.

Hey Phileepa! Looks like you two are having a ton of fun and thank you so much for posting these video's. Not likely I'll ever visit Scotland, so these vicarious experiences are a blessing for me. I gotta ask though: $120 bps ($150US)... is that typical for a CS distillery bottling? or is that just what Diageo likes to charge at their various distilleries? adjusted for ABV, that still comes out to $106 US adjusted to 40abv for an 11 year old expression. While I can forgive the price a little bit "for the distillery visit experience", $105, or just $150 can cover a lot of the whisky landscape. It makes the idea of going to distilleries (or at least Diageo distilleries) a bit of a non-starter for me, given if my initial goal was to buy something at the gift shop.

I know what you mean. They do typically give 10% discount if you go on a tour and then if you are leaving the country you can claim the 20% vat back at the airport if you make the effort. But for uk visitors they do seem expensive unlike going to Campbeltown and getting bargains at the Springbank shop.
