The only positive recovery of a broken ankle I have seen. Broke my ankle Sept 7.

Glad to hear it, that's why I made this as I felt the same when I broke mine. But I'm over 2 years on now, and not a single issue since healing; no pain, no stiffness, its as good as new. And I hope yours will be too! Happy healing x

Thank god I found this video! I broke my ankle a week ago and have been looking online ever since and you’re right. A lot of information saying it takes months and months and life is never the same again! Thank you for bringing a much more hopeful and potentially realistic experience to this injury!

@@ccampbellmusic Glad to hear it! I'm having a good summer too. I had two weeks holiday in Spain at the end of July, which was a God-send timing wise, as I missed the UK heatwave and had access to a pool during it 🙂

You ARE magic! Thank you so much for this, I can’t tell you how grateful I am to receive your wonderful video. Also I have been writing songs and playing my guitar during this time, love the synchronicity of seeing your lovely instrument behind you. Would you be open to me asking you some questions in regards to your healing process? I also equally have some big things coming up for me and would be so grateful if you had a moment. Congratulations on your wedding darling and so pleased that you were able to enjoy it empowered in your body! Big love and thank you again ❤️

I just broke my ankle, one week out from the surgery. I’m so young, 21 but really small and not active at the gym or anything. I’m so nervous because I still have 5 weeks of non weight bearing and. Would love to hear it gets better and I’ll be back to normal soon
@ccampbellmusic

It really does get better! You're going to be back to normal before you know it so hang in there! I'd advise taking calcium tablets if you can and I took multivitamin gummies to keep you strong. But at 21, your body will bounce back so quickly and this time next year you won't even remember that you broke it! Sending love, healing thoughts and so much assurance that better times are coming, be patient and try and rest when you can. Your bones are healing when you sleep, so sleep often xxx

I had a similar experience. Broke the left fibula at the ankle in November, was in a cast for 12 days and then a moon boot for four weeks. Yesterday, less than three months after the injury, I walked more than seven miles and went up and down a couple of hills. And I’d walked eight miles on the flat the day before.

I took vitamins and rested. I say that in the video if you didn’t only watch it to be snarky in the comments. I also kept as active as I could throughout. That’s it.

Also this isn’t a “how to” it’s more a more to give people hope that it might not take as long as they think and also it will get better because many broken ankle stories I read were horror stories about how it never fully recovered so I just made this to let people know that they will. Thanks for your comment 🙌

Dang just broke my ankle 3 days ago, long jump into sandpit and broke it in track, I was wondering what was your diet like without the calcium vitamins, I feel backstabbed that I might miss all of summer and especially football my grind was going so great and then boom all downhill, How did you push through all the mental stuff? I know this is 2 years late but
@ccampbellmusic

Hey sorry to hear about your ankle! I know how deflating it can feel and especially going into summer but you could be up and out again by June! My diet was mostly normal, I took those extra supplements I mentioned but otherwise I just ate normally but I do eat fairly healthily anyway- plenty of veg and protein and…potatoes haha. Wishing you a speedy recovery, there are highs and lows but you’ll get through it! Come back here and let me know how you are in 6 weeks! ❤️

Had 6 week followup of my tibia fracture. Doctor took me off the boot and gave me an ankle brace. Feels weird when I’m puttin weight on it and im walking gingerly with a good amount of pressure when i step on my heel. Im hoping I can walk semi normally in 5 weeks before my trip 😢

Omg thank you I needed to see this today. I’m 6wks into healing with the same broken bone, no surgery but also given a moon boot. Have another X-ray on Monday and scared to try and walk without the boot until I see the dr. I’m a burlesque dancer, actually have a show in week and was feeling so helpless and frustrated. You have given me hope and I’m so happy you made your hen weekend and congratulations for the wedding ☺️☺️ x

I have had the same brake and at 7 weeks now but I haven’t had no follow up appointment. My achilleas is seriously tight and I am unsure if this is normal. How did yours feel?
@ccampbellmusic
2 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for watching and I hope you’re recovering well! Yes mine also felt very stiff and tight around the 6/7 week mark. I’d really recommend walking gently on it wherever you can and when you’re sitting down on the sofa etc, trying and stretch it out. I found some KZitem tutorials about ankle stretches just to keep it moving. Really good one was to stand with your hands on the back of a chair lift your good leg, if you can, so your weight is on your broken one. And gentle squat to stretch out that calf/achilles. Only do what feels good though, any pain just stop. That was my doctor’s advice and it helped me a lot.

Hey Virat, hope that you're doing ok and sorry to hear you're suffering a break currently. I Googled what that is, because I didn't know the technical terms when I broke mine but it sounds incredibly similar. I fractured the bottom of my fibula and didn't need surgery. I was walking again without any aid by 6 weeks. I was advised not to run for 6 months and followed that advice. After 6 weeks I no longer experienced any pain at all. I hope your journey is similar! Lots of love xxx

@ccampbellmusic
Жыл бұрын
Aha really!! And was he devilishly handsome? ;) yeah mine was pretty swollen still even after the 6 weeks, don’t worry! I was advised to elevate it every evening, that’s when the swelling was the worst. I remember on my hen do (about 8 weeks after the break) I looked down at my ankle one evening and I didn’t even recognise my own leg, it was so swollen, my sandal was cutting into me!! My friends called me cankles for the rest of the holiday 😭😭😭
