As someone who's been in recovery for an eating disorder for years, I just wanted to let you know this is the first video I've seen on KZitem about the topic of health and fitness that has actually been affirming and not triggering, so I wanted to say thank you for making a video about a really potentially sensitive topic in a thoughtful and insightful way

Wow, that blows my mind and been through some ups and downs in my personal life in that time. Your videos were always a comfort. Ellie M Who are you to decide what are real or fake goals for someone? Those are not valuable goals for YOU in YOUR life. What is the purpose of shitting on someone who left a perfectly kind comment lifting another woman up and expressing admiration for them?

Ellie M And who says I don't? :) Some of us have very simple goals. For me it's being content in life, live peacefully. For you it might be something completely different. And that's okay. We all have different reasons for the way we wish to live our lives. I hope all your dreams come true, no matter how big or small :)

My favorite yoga class is a vinyasa flow with guided meditation at the end! The instructor has everyone set an intention for the class, the flow is challenging but rewarding, and theres 15 minutes of guided meditation in savasana at the end. Literally drool worthy! Adding meditation could definitely be beneficial to your practice. I love watching your fitness/health videos. It’s so refreshing to have the insight from someone being their best self that hasn’t been a health and fitness junkie since day 1 (I mean this with 100% love and admiration) because it can be daunting trying to find motivation for myself from someone who has lived their entire life eating a “perfect” diet and hitting the gym 5x a week. Thank you!

Yoga is soooo amazing, snaps to the teachers that just calm your mind and bring you into the present. Fun fact, YIN YOGA, is not a restorative practice, although very calming and meditative, it is actually used to push the body into somewhat uncomfortable positions. You then use your breath and gravity to ease into it over the 5-10 mins that you hold it. When I learnt this my yin practice became my only practice! I love it and my body does too!

try doing private 1-1 pilates on the reformers! it was really what made me feel toned (in combination with yoga!). if you have an instructor that you connect with it can be the BEST workout that flies by because you're so focused on the little movements. it allowed me to feel more connected to my body by focusing on specific muscles and not rushing/melting through a workout class. it's great to lengthen and tone! i was at my happiest when i was doing yoga and pilates regulary.

Estée, this video is amazing! Thank you for the positivity. I love this approach - balance, no tough restriction, respect to your body. I have a similar philosophy. No extremes, trying eat well, but sometimes allow myself a treat, find some sport acitivity I love, dont push too much to myself, be kind to myself. I also love yoga. For me it is the source of mental and physical balance. If I have a bad day, yoga usually help me to see things from another perspective. Sometimes it helped me simply stop thinking about an issue over and over. It depends...But I strongly recommend yoga to try for everyone, especially for sensitive people. Try various types of yoga, various instructors...

But since you mentioned about Adrienne before I've started her 30 days yoga, and it took 2 months for me to complete but mentally I'm in a much better place now. I love yoga cuz it keeps my mind off from all the stress and I like learning how to synchronize breathing and movement.

Babes it certainly is an ever evolving thing, but welcome to getting older! If this is how comfortable you feel in your twenties, think about how liberated you'll feel in your thirties! Honestly, the older you get, the less fks you give about the stupid stuff and the more fks you give about yourself. I'm 35 in a couple of weeks and honestly the older I get, the happier I get, the more I know myself, the more I do things on my own terms, the more I go after what I really want in life instead of hesitating on the sidelines like I did in my younger years. Welcome, you have arrived!! Sending love xxx

I got back into yoga this year and attempted the 30-Day Challenge, and it was not only physically gratifying but emotionally opening for me. I definitely had a few sessions where I cried as I stretched because of the emotional release, which had NEVER happened before. It brought me face to face with my inner demons, and helped me parse out some internal feelings that I didn't give much thought to prior to the practice. Yoga truly is a powerful tool for health and fitness.
