As an oncology nurse, I see people dying everyday and especially a lot of younger people, just this month we’ve had 4 people under the age of 65 pass on. Health is the greatest wealth, people need to realize that sooner than later. I have to remind my husband of this daily because he’s one of those people that will work until he dies because he doesn’t think we have enough money to retire even though we have enough saved for retirement.

Thanks for leaving such an insightful comment. I've been around hospitals all my life (so I've witnessed a lot of sickness & dying too)... and it really sobered me up to the harsh realities of lfie. My daughter-in-law is a wound-care nurse (in her 30s) and she's seen it too. It's true, health is the greatest wealth. I hope you and your husband are able to retire together. Thanks for stopping by!

Awesome job on your fitness journey! Thanks for the compliment too. I have exercised in some form or another most of my life and it's paying off now that I'm in my 60s. Many of my friends who are my age are really struggling with their health, mobility & weight gain. Inspiring others (close to my age) is one of my motivations for starting my KZitem channel. Thanks again.

1. Stop drinking 2. Stop smoking 3. Ride your bicycle every day 4. Drink a teaspoon of olive oil every night before bed 5. Unplug your TV 6. Don't eat processed food. They are poisoning you. Thank you, Ronnie. Your voice is that of reason and sanity. I have seen it and played it out exactly as you said it. 70 years old. No aches and pains or debts or enemies. Retired 14 years. I retired with 80% of my goal because I looked at the calendar and heard the clock ticking. Life is good. Smell the flowers.

Let’s see, I quit drinking so I could quit smoking 13 years ago, I eat nuts and an avocado everyday but I’m obese being some 70lbs overweight. I need to take up lifting weights maybe. I’m 62 and still working FT and I plan on working til 69 or 70 depending on how I feel then.

Thank you Ronnie. Your videos are excellent. You have made me realize something I have been quietly aware of, which is I am way too sedentary. I hope I can turn things around. In my early 60's and have always worked a sedentary job.

I retired at 58 in 2020, I keep as fit as possible, I walk alot, I don't go to the gym, but I think walking is sufficient, I always remember my dad's advise years ago, he retired when he was 58, he lived until he was 96, he advised me to retire as soon as I could afford to

Your father lived until 96? Wow. I think early retirement actually contributes to better health and a longer life. My mother retired at 60 and she's now 85... is active, still drives, lives independent, and is in very good health for her age. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Thank you for the video. You are looking great for your age. I totally agree with you, I am 54 and ready to early retire. I have been strength training for last 5 years and feel like I am in my 30's. It has become my daily routine and keeps me sane. I like your quote "Time is more important than money" as we age. Keep sharing good words and thoughts. We need more of these messages than financial advising videos that are fear mongering and stressing people out.

I had 2 mini strokes in my 50s. i lost 35 lbs, started exercising and changed the way I ate. I had a PFO (open valve in heart) closed which caused the strokes. but 8 yrs on continue the lifestyle. It was a light bulb moment, cardiologist said I wouldn't have another stroke through the valve issue but the rest was up to me. My husband got on board too and now has perfect cholesterol, as do I. We eat very little meat, and read the labels. I am too frugal to have all our $$ to medical. Pay the farmer not the doctor!

My friend waited for the full retirement age to retire which was 66 years. He had an app on his phone which told him how many days to freedom!!. Three months before that date, his doctor told him to check out a skin lesion. He found out he had cancer. He was devastated. His dream of retirement and enjoying all that freedom was shattered. He retired finally and spends his days going to treatment. Now he regrets waiting until his full retirement age. He thinks he should have listened to his body instead of the rules. Yes he would have collected less money but he would have enjoyed the time he spent working. Plus he has a sizable nest egg. If he had retired a couple of years earlier, he would have enjoyed that time and he disliked his work. Listen to your body not to some retirement pundit.

Thanks for sharing this story. Although tragic, it perfectly illustrates the point that health & time are very valuable to us (more valuable than money). Your comments, " He thinks he should have listened to his body instead of the rules" and "Listen to your body not to some retirement pundit" is the best I've heard in a long time. Again, thanks for stopping by and commenting.
