MILLET UPPUMAVU
Ingredients
1. Millets(either 1 millet or mixed ) 1 cup
2. Ginger chopped 1 piece
3. Green chilli chopped 4 -5
4. Big onion chopped 1 - 1 ½ cup
5. Grated coconut 1 cup
6. Salt to taste
7. Boiling water 2 -2 ¼ cup
SEASONING
1. Oil 2-3 tbsp
2. Blackgram dal 2 tsp
3. Channa dal (opt) 2 tsp
4. Curry leaves plenty
PREPARATION
1. Heat oil , season with the ingredients , sauté 2-4 followed by the washed drained millets, till really hot
2. Add the boiling water, salt and half of the grated coconut, stir and cook till done. If using pressure cooker (2 whistles)
3. Open, stir adding the remaining coconut , garnish with plenty of squeezed curry leaves.
