Hate to burst your bubble but that was not live. That was a studio track and like every other band back then it was easier to lip-sync something as the did not have time code back then. You had to be a master editor in order to try and sync up live footage back then. I know I worked in television for 30+ yrs :) Peace and Love from Canada eh :) sorry :)

@@hmohns7035 Sorry, but the Midnight Special (and a few other shows) were LIVE! American Bandstand (US), Top of the Pops (UK) were lip-synched.\ If you have the experience you claim, you would know that Ann Wilson used a one directional microphone. Unless you sang DIECTLY INTO the mic, it would lose sound, unlike multi-directional microphones. Watch the video again. When Ann moves the mic away from her mouth, the sound drops. This does not happen on the STUDIO version of the song, but did happen frequently when Ann sang live!

It does. You just have to find it, though it is few and far between. Moriah Formica sang this song on The Voice during the blind auditions and turned all 4 chairs. Not only is she one of the the youngest to do it (16 at the time) she is the ONLY contestant to do it in the rock genre in the entire history of the show. Since then she formed her own band called PLUSH. I haven't heard so much as a mediocre song from them. Everything is great.. check out Better Off Alone or Sober. They also do an incredible cover of Barracuda. Another great band that brings new music with an old school sound is Liliac. They're the band that brought me back to modern music. They're actually a family band, but they aren't no Partridge Family or Hanson. I'll tell ya that. While they do have amazing covers of Dio, Iron Maiden, Sabbath, Joan Jett, Janice etc., their originals is where it's at. Check out Not Afraid (extended), We Are The Children or Dear Father.

Hey Hon! On your thought that you wished the camera had been showing the audience all through the performance, clapping along: I think it was sometime in the 80s that Freddie Mercury of Queen first had cameras/film crews do that as a “regular thing”… Use angles from the sides of the stage or behind the band, in order to see/record the audience, I mean.
