The Heart Sūtra is widely regarded as the most explicit expression of the intent of all the Buddhas. If you need to choose a single Buddhist text in Sanskrit for daily chanting, it should probably be the Heart Sūtra.
The Sūtra is chanted by Dharmavardhana Jñānagarbha, closely following the instructions of Imee Ooi, who subtly weaved principles of traditional Buddhist group chanting into her musical arrangement.
We thank Gonpo Tashi for the image, which he drew on the basis of the famous Prajñāpāramitā statue from Java that is so famous all over the world.
The text exists in many different versions. Here we follow the longer version and, in particular, an edition that conforms closely to how the Sūtra is transmitted in the Tibetan tradition and in the commentaries by Indian masters (such as, especially Vimalamitra).
