@@Shamsithaca You're right, but also wrong. Nobody "types" it, but we have OCR (optical character recognition), and millions of ships' documents have been digitized with minimal human input. It took me 15 minutes to find my ancestors' ship records on the Internet. Sometimes humans fix up those records to improve the OCR, but they're often pretty good even without human tinkering.

You don't have to be mean to be a person who lived in the past. What will your primitive present look like to people of the future? I'm sure they will find you as barbaric as you assume this commander of the East India Company was. I don't want my future generations to struggle to find my mom's information like them. I've been creating my family tree . I'm gonna turn it into a beautiful animation and just pass it to my future generations. I gathered few families' information on my own. I've met them on marriages and family gatherings. Now I'm gonna ask my mom for the detailed information. This feels really really exciting to store the information of our families in detail..... 🖖 Live long and Prosper y'all. From India 🇮🇳.

More than likely, it took quite a while to get that journey begun. If it took Harriet 6 months to travel to England, the news of her father's passing would have taken at least that long to get to his family in England and then longer still for arrangements to be made to get Harriet back to England-- potentially over a year or two. By then, she certainly could have appeared to be closer to the age of 7.
