Great review, just one thing i need to say, there is no 32 cap for multiplayer, don't know why it says that, i'm in a server with over 8000 people and we regularly host 60 player games

Great video! You definitely deserve more subs! I love Hoi4, but in my opinion, they need to add options to turn off parts of the DLC. (Ex. Turn off espionage for La Resistance, Turn off the naval stuff for Man the Guns, or the oil mechanic).

The oil mechanic is in base game tho I thought, anyway why would u want to turn it off, it makes the game more realistic, showing germany's need for oil

Polarn I understand the mechanic from a multiplayer, and realistic point of view. I just want an option to turn it off for casual and single player games.

The only think that stopped me from buying it in the last sale, was that I thought this game has too low roleplay and its designed for multiplayer, but if you have 600+ hours without playing multiplayer I might reconsider that.
@TitusReviews

Some of the mods for this game really push the roleplaying side, but even then I'm a big fan of base game singleplayer, also theres a good chance of a Halloween sale at the end of this month so you'll have another chance to pick it up then.

The devs have said only a small percentage of the playerbase plays multi-player, and even then it's usually co-op. Overwhelmingly the player base is single player :)

So if I'm right that's the game and the first 4 DLCs right? I paid 40 for the game when it released and probably another 40 on the DLCs so I would've been happy to get the game at that price personally, but if your really not certain you can get the game for 10 atm and decide during the Christmas sale if you want the DLCs

A more in depth WWII game? That would be Hearts of Iron 3. Be warned though that older Paradox games don't have the most friendly user interfaces and have an even steeper learning curve. If you want to stick with Hoi4, then check out the Black Ice mod - it makes the game waaay more complex.

While I do agree that some of the dlc is overpriced, it definitely isn’t as bad as he made it out to be. When you’ve learnt enough of the game, you’re going to be using spies, customized ships and the autonomy system frequently. The only reason I would be on the fence about buying hoi4 is the amount of time it takes to learn. It isn’t hard to learn, but it still took me over 4hrs of yt tutorials to understand most mechanics.

AFter dumping over 100 hours CK 3 recently, I really have been back on the Paradox train. I remember I pre-ordered the special edition of Hoi4 back when it came out, did one game as Germany and then got so bored, which soured my opinion of Paradox for a while. How different is the game today? I remember dabbling a little bit in Darkest Hour because of Kaiserreich and had some fun with it.
@TitusReviews

Theres been a fair few major free patches that went along with DLC releases so theres a lot of new mechanics in the base game as well as some quality of life changes. They also added in decisions which are like mini focus' and they basically just give you a little bit more control. I'd say it would be worth another go, and even if you don't love the base game still, some of the mods are incredible so you might be able to get your moneys worth.

Paradox likes to insult the players and most players do not even notice...and yes, you NEED DLCs, because if you don't have them the single player just goes crazy and sometimes completly ignores your presets.
