Denise, I am a very honest person. Truth is highly important to me. I don’t know if your makeup is different, or if you have lost weight or what. But if none of that is very different, please know that with all sincerity, that wig is soooo very cute on you. This the cutest image I have seen of you ever. Maybe you are just glowing for some other reason. Whatever it is . You look so very cute.

@@heywigsister It is heartfelt and true. I watch your videos also b/c your face shape and color are somewhat like mine. Although I am paler than you and being perhaps 30 years older ,I am recently developing the little jowels which I do intend to have some work done on. So , for me I love a full mane of curls , but I have noticed on me , and a little on your past videos too, that it makes me look a bit more pudgy in the face. No more for you though. Very informative. I just bought two Editors pick. My first HF wigs. Ugh. Wished I saw this first. Your are doing a great job with both your wig sisters and Christians. What a testimony. We Christians are being suppressed. We are being mocked and ridiculed. But our reward will be great, living in Heaven with Christ. This life here on earth is just a passing phase, a short chapter in our journey. Keep up the good work. Pray and lean on God. People are brutal hidden behind their devices… saying terrible things. You can always have different social media accounts for different purposes (which I believe you have done already) - I noticed the date of this video. Anyway God bless you.

I just saw a post on Instagram by Allie Beth Stucky encouraging Christians to step up and take some arrows with brothers and sisters who are speaking out so they don't feel so alone... such good advice. Wow. You have no idea how this has helped me. I needed the spiritual encouragement today. I am in a wig supper group and sometimes people can be so rude and ugly. It’s tough going through this journey already without the added anxiety from others. The Lord knew I was searching this morning for this and your video was the first to come up on my KZitem. I just purchased my first hair piece. It’s RW heat friendly front lace and I am struggling with the installation. The glue doesn’t seem to work. I am loosing hair due to CPTSD so it’s double trauma. You have such a sweet soft spirit and it’s always comforting g listening to you. So today I thank you for being you. And I just wanted to share how much watching your videos help me emotionally. I love Heat Friendly wigs! I only own HF wigs. They do take special care. They need moisture! I use water on mine and I use the sea salt spray. Products build up on them fast! I rinse mine out in a cool basin of water ever other week. I hang mine upside down to dry and at night when I take it off I do clip it upside down. When I put it on the next morning I have to pick it out a little bit carefully. I wear editors pick by Raquel Welch

I only had her 6 months and she was trash by the end. I knew nothing about how to treat her. I think now I could probably keep her much longer and looking much better now but I'm learning a lot from the community and would love more!

For the most part, I've steered clear of HF wigs when I can. In fact, a while back Toni Brattin closed out all her synthetic wigs and has gone strictly to HF. When I realized what was happening, I wrote to the company and flat out asked if that was the plan, and they confirmed it. I scooped up several of my favorite synthetics while I still could. But there's no getting around it, HF fibers are here to stay. I, for one, would appreciate any and all of your expertise on heat friendly fibers. I've got several of them unfortunately.

This comment from Kathy expresses mine as well. I haven’t owned any. However, I lean to think if I was to buy one it would be straight (which isn’t my preference). A straight piece would appear to me easier since I’d be less scaried about changing the style with heat. I also want to know do they deteriorate more quickly or does it depend on the way the hair is treated (products/heat treatments). I would love this content, however, I understand if you don’t want to “go there”. It’s expensive, especially if they wear off more or you lose a beloved style. Just know there is definitely interest especially if you can get into specifics on longevity and “how to’s” on the best treatment which seems to work for you. It’s was helpful hearing you thoughts on RW. I’ll keep this in mind. Thanks!

That waxy coated feeling of a RW heat defiant you mention- you’re the first I’ve heard say this! This was my experience and it felt like a bowl of straight, lank, heavy, wet noodles on my head! It’s a topper. I washed it 5 or 6 times trying to get rid of this texture. I then tried curling. Then I had heavy, coated, lank, skinny curls.😖

Yeah.... RW is definitely my least favorite Heat Friendly synthetic fiber.... but it is important to note that they are not all alike! @@heywigsister Yeah! You’re teaching us. Belle Tress does have some nice colors too! I just bought a heat friendly from Cysterwigs and it feels great! I had been watching a video called “Bake your turkey, not your wig”! It was pretty good- showed actual wigs that got cooked! So…I’m reading the comments and someone suggests to just buy a heat friendly for cooking! Genius! Had never occurred to me! I guess I just blocked that option out after the RW wig! I bought the Cysterwigs brand Danica- very long. I usually make into a topper but I might try something new…so I can braid a ponytail!

Love that Cyster Wig style on you. Is the whole style discontinued or just the color? I have avoided heat friendly for the reasons you discuss. I had one short Raquel Welch years ago. I find many of the somewhat wavy styles attractive, but I do not like having to style my wigs or work at them, and I know they will never look the same once I do. I personally also like to brush my wigs, not comb them, but most people tell you NOT to brush heat friendly wigs. For these reasons, I have never tried Belle Tress and did not know their fibers were different. Having said that, avoiding heat friendly styles does limit my options, and there are some cute wigs out there. Again, my personal interest is in those with a slight wave or texture, more like the Belle Tress Kona. If you did something like that I would be curious, but honestly would probably too put off by the extra effort involved to purchase for myself.

The whole style is discontinued... but I know quite a few people reached out to them directly to request it so you never know... if there is enough interest I'm sure Heather would bring it back. I agree with you on the extra effort and it potentially not being worth it... but you never know if that will change. SO MANY of the things I once thought about wig wearing have changed over time, and I can imagine this might as well (the willingness to put in the effort). HUGS!

But Editor's Pick is a whole different story😖 Yes,I'd be interested in a series. Thanks Denise.

I started out with heat friendly as well!! It was the Belle Tress Top Wave topper.... I had absolutely ZERO knowledge about wigs and had no idea there were different types of fibers... when it started clumping after the 4th wear and I could not blend it with my hair easily anymore I had no idea what was happening... and so I read I needed to take heat to it, so I did, and it took out all the beautiful wave that I loved about it. It was quite the disaster and completely turned me off heat friendly wigs.

Is that still holding true 5 months later? I just started wearing wigs in Jan. 2022 And not with much regularity until late February. I noticed my most worn HF Belletresse Cold Brew Chic showing signs like you described, stiff, clumping ends and I had been using detangling spray regularly ( but no heat yet). Your preference to not use much product got me to thinking if I would have been better off without the frequent use of detangling spray. Your thoughts???Appreciate all you do. Your videos. @heywigsister

I think trimming it is a good option, but you can only do that so many times and then you can't really trim anymore, so learning how to manage it would be better.... I do think if it touches your clothing trimming to a length that is short enough where that isn't as much of a problem would be helpful. I will see what I can do to get some experience with it and figure out care.

My number 1 question is, can you cook in them? I’m looking ahead to holidays and I want to find something I can have on my head doing final cooking while guests are present.

You know, I have seen people say yet and I've seen people say no. I would think that it would not be as risky to cook in it as with a regular synthetic, and would still try to stay back away from the initial heat blast when opening the oven.... but have to believe that it would tolerate it might better.

Because heat friendly wigs are becoming so popular, do you think it will be difficult to find regular synthetic wigs in the future? I wear short pixies, and I don't want to change the curl pattern. How do you take heat to a short pixie? I appreciate all the time you give to making informative videos.

No, I think they will be be around. So many people won't wear heat friendly that a HUGE part of the wig market would be impacted. There are many brands that do not carry any heat friendly at all, so that would be a huge leap for them to completely change.

Thank you!! I have been playing around with it. Right now I am TOTALLY into the Revolution line and am in love with it.... it is cheap and seems to work awesome. I was actually wearing a combination of an NYX eyeshadow pallette that I don't love buy I can never waste anything so I'm trying to use it up and the revolution blush pallette I showed in my Skinstore review I did a few weeks ago (it is linked in that video). Yes it is a blush pallette but I use it on my eyes all the time. I ALSO have an eyeshadow pallette by Revolution that is discontinued but that is what turned me on to the brand.

I just purchased Raquel Welch Straight up with a Twist and I’m very confused about how to care for it. This is so timely for me Denise. So far, and it’s only been about a week, I like the lack of excess shine but the fibers are so different and I’m afraid to mess with it. Edit: I want to have an angled bang cut in to this wig. Anything I need to do with it especially after a cut? Thanks!
@heywigsister
3 жыл бұрын
I am LOVING my Straight Up with a Twist.... I don't think you need to do anything super special after the cut, but you may want to take a round brush to it with some heat just to soften the edges (either a curling iron brush or a round brush with a hair dryer)... here is the Curling Iron brush I have, would recommend the 1" barrel for a length like SUWAT: amzn.to/3DyLhDk

In the Belle Tress line, which is more of a brown, mocha with cream or brown sugar sweet cream? Thanks, and thank you for sharing Jesus!

I think Mocha with Cream... I just got a Clover in Brown Sugar Sweet Cream on a trade and haven't reviewed it yet, but that one has a lot more blonde in it than I anticipated.

Hey,what diameter is your curling iron brush ?
@heywigsister
3 жыл бұрын
I think it is the 1"..... that is the most universal size that works for the most variety of lengths... if you wear shoulder length and below most often then you could go with the 1.5 inch, although the 1 inch would work just fine (would put more of a bend in the fibers. amzn.to/3DyLhDk

It figures, I love that wig on you. What available wig do you rhink is closest to this one. Does not have to be heat friendly. Thank you.

I think that Belle Tress Columbia might be similar but without the bang.... Mane Attraction Fortune could also be a similar style, again without the bang. Struggling to think of one that would have a bang like this.

God bless you for your moral courage. We do sometimes feel like a “voice crying out in the wilderness.” So much disheartening stuff going on, but “let not your hearts be troubled.” God is still on the throne. Be docile to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and stay close to Mary. She is the perfect example of perfect humility and obedience to God. By imitating her virtues we are closer to Jesus.

I am staying away from heat friendly because they are not as budget friendly. They are more expensive. They lose their original curl when you restyle them. I am not good with hair ( who is that didn’t have enough hair? ) They apparently don’t last as long. But I will watch anything you do Denise I love your style I love your easy-going way I love your sincerity. I used to be a Christian (and I am no longer one)story short I still love everything you do and I think your attempts to share what you have are just so helpful and generous. I would think that if you were Hindu Muslim or pagan as well. Continue to give what you have freely with no expectation and continue to not judge anyone else for their’s. That is God’s job anyway right? So it should not be a burden to you! As a born again Christian you are supposed to lay that burden on Him right? That way you’ll be a friend to all. Thank you for doing what you do you are just adorable

This is such a sweet comment, Paula. THANK YOU! I try to approach EVERYONE and EVERYTHING with love.... it isn't always easy but we never know what someone else has endured in their life and when people are suffering they aren't always the most kind and gracious. I think the world would be a much better place if people would stop taking everything so personally and always default to kindness, no matter what. I'm so sorry to hear that you are a former Christian... something really awful must have happened to drive you away from Christ. You are in my prayers and I wish nothing but peace and love for you. Thank you, also, for the support!! It means so much to me!

Denise, hi--me again 🙄. And sorry for interrupting your day. I'm not on Facebook or Instagram, but I have some wigs that I have bought new, and unaltered. Is there a site not on Facebook and/or Instagram that you can think of that promotes used wigs? I'm not even looking to sell mine. I would love to find people to trade with, and just pay postage. We all know that we'll take a hit when selling used items--it's the rules of engagement. But I'm not after recouping money. I'm after being pleased/satisfied with a wig. For wig sisters as much as for myself. I would so like to just be able and pay shipping and handling on a used wig and and in turn "sell" mine for shipping and handling. If such a concept doesn't already exist, could you create one? 🥰🥰. I've brought it up to Lisa from Brunette Wig Place, too.

Hi! I am not currently aware of any site outside of Facebook where you can do that right now... but that is such a great idea because I know many are not on those platforms. I have been thinking about this and wondering if I could do something from my website... I'll keep noodling on it. Thank you for your heart to help others!

Thanks so much, Denise. To make things easier, a set amount to ship the wigs could be used; like a Poshmark thing. And of course anyone could SELL, should they choose. Honestly,.for myself, I would much prefer an altered wig if it's in a style I want. 😊

@@dawnbodri4347 there was a site called wigsanity.com where you could sell pieces but it seems to have been taken down. I wonder why? I never sold there but did buy a few pieces ... it was like Ebay for wigs which is what I think you are looking for.

Be encouraged… the present is not the end. God knows the first and the last. Where you are is not where you will stay. The hard places are not where God wants anyone to stay, He has a plan and He used hard places to repair us for His blessed places. We see the present clearly but God sees the end - the place He wants us to be prepared for. Hard places are God’s training hound so we can be effect in the places He wants to use us in. You are chosen for good works that He has prepared for you.
