Hey, everyone! Welcome back to our Space Remote Sensing and GIS channel! Today, we're diving into the world of heat index mapping using ArcGIS Pro and Living Atlas data. With these tools, you can create detailed heat index maps for any city on the planet.
To get started, you'll need three key pieces of data: population density, land surface temperature (LST), and vegetation class. Luckily, all of this can be easily accessed through Living Atlas. The population density and vegetation class data can be obtained directly from Living Atlas, while for LST, we can use Landsat multispectral imagery and calculate it using ArcGIS Pro's raster preprocessing template.
Once we have these three layers of data, we can start building our model. By combining population density, LST, and vegetation class, we can calculate the heat index for any location. This is incredibly valuable when it comes to understanding the impact of climate change on urban environments.
So, if you're interested in exploring the world of heat index mapping and its applications in climate change research, stay tuned as we dive deeper into this topic in our upcoming videos. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more content on Space Remote Sensing and GIS!
