I don't see a problem with this cast and the fact they went traditional casting based on the film, and not the blind casting. The first run in the UK finer had blind casting, and then when it went from one theatre to the next same thing, and it was even recorded wit that cast, we have it, the production company doesn't need to always keep doing color blind casting just cause it was done before covid.

Of course it shouldn’t be done just because they did it before. It should be done EVERY time for a show like there where race isn’t directly tied to the storyline BECAUSE ITS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. There is no downside to a more diverse cast, and lots of downsides to returning to this archetype which only allows for one actress of color to be a principle. Which is absurd.

My brain hurt reading this. Without “colorblind” casting and by using “accurate” casting we’re stuck with the same problem of lack of diversity. The reason why POC play these roles is to combat the lack of POC in shows in the first place.
