wait a minute honey, you just mighta did sumn. imma try this, i want perm rollers but if i can do this until i get the rollers i definitely will! you curls came out so pretty! it's so funny that people think that when us girls with 4c have protective hairstyles (twist outs and bantu knot outs) and other hairstyles like this and they don't even notice we're 4c. And yes, olive oil is amazing!!!!!

ladyshawann the ignorance when it comes to 4c hair is ridiculous. I was looking at another video with girl with a perm roller tutorial with 4c hair and someone in the comments had the nerve to tell the girl in the video that she wasn't 4c because her hair looks "too soft." I guess they've never seen 4c hair at its healthy point when its moisturized? I keep my hair moisturized all the time and my hair is more manageable and softer. People forget 4c hair can be manipulated into hairstyles, it just takes effort and letting your hair form overnight

You are welcome, I’m looking forward to your blogs. When I first went natural after transitioning nearly two years ago, I was clueless to taking care of my natural hair to help it regrow length and retain its health. I had been perming my hair forever and had just had it professionally highlighted, (which together I believe contributed to my severe hair loss). During my transition I watched a lot of youtube natural hair videos, but you are the second person I’m subscribed to. 🙂 P.S. That is very clever and the curls look beautiful! I like to mix in a bit of apple cider vinegar with mostly water in a spray bottle. And to that I add drops of essential oils. I use this to detangle my hair before washing.

I loved this video! Your ideas are awesome! Almost like a natural hair survival kit consisting of the bare minimum of ingredients to clean and style your hair. Though I wouldn't recommend just any lotion, because the ingredients can be harsh and damaging to the hair, especially the perfume and alcohol that is used in most body lotions.

....body lotion for your hair...well...thats one way to prevent your hair from growing and keeping it soft. Body lotion is HORRIABLE for the hair! I did that when I was kid before cause i bored and it left my hair so damn dry. Worst idea you could ever do for your hair smh
@PureEstrogen
7 жыл бұрын
Tatiana Ragland 😂😂😂 That's just the way it is when you're young and dumb. But seriously, it's just a quick fix, not a regimen builder. My lotion is really softening on both my skin and hair, and hair grows from the inside out not the outside in. The products you use may affect your retention, but your hair won't stop growing. Either way, different hair does different things even when using the same hair products and techniques, so you can't say with absolute certainty that what failed for you will fail when others do it. At least your hair didn't fall out in clumps. 😊
@tatianaragland4007

Pure Estrogen nah this is a result of someone being to lazy and broke to just get some real hair products 😒 Also this can prevent your hair from growing and retaining moisture! Body lotion has different and stronger chemicals in it that our regular hair products do not contain for a reason! Body lotion will clogged up the hair follicle and strands preventing any real moisture to get into the hair strand itself. Hence preventing breakage which entails length retention!! Also hair grows from the scalp hun! Everything you eat and put on your scalp and hair can either help it grow faster or slow it down even more!
@PureEstrogen
7 жыл бұрын
Tatiana Ragland It can only clog your follicles if it is used on your scalp and also happens to be comedogenic, in which case your skin would also break out since scalp is skin also. Not all lotions or products in general are created equal and unfortunately, your outcome was trash, while mine was better than expected. What chemical properties of body lotion literally halt hair growth and prevent you from absorbing moisture? Please, explain this mechanism(s).

I know for a fact WITH MY HAIR black soap is very drying. I've never used lotion on my hair either but it's known to be really drying for the hair. But I find it interesting that it worked on your hair. Everyone hair does respond differently! I WILL be trying these plastic bag curls though, they came out super cute on you! I 💚 your channel, I think you're a lovely young lady 😁😁

I'm actually going to try this. For about 6 months I have been using flexible rods and perm rods but they pull my hair out and at night it just hurts in some places to sleep and my scalp gets sensitive. Also my hair doesn't hold styles for days so I have to work with it every day. I love the bags because they are more flexible and soft for night sleeping.
