Yeah, but that really doesn't matter if you plan on having it as a "forever" bike. The first one I put about $2,500 into and then got rid of it because I thought I could just apply any other money towards something else. 4 bikes later, I re-purchased another used wr250x and, currently, have about $3,600 into it, and purchased it for $3,400. I'm still not done. Suspension and big bore kit to come. And, you know what? I'm perfectly fine with it.

Captain J The BK A lot of the money used to repair and upgrade this bike after it was waterlogged came from donations. I could be wrong but I think the donations were made through Patreon. He’s had the bike for many years and has slowly upgraded it over time with his own money. However, a lot of what you see now was paid for with money donated to him though. I’ve been subscribed to him for about 6 years now, so I would know this.

Hey Kalani, its wonderful to have you back. I have always wondered, is noise an issue when going on trails and such? I live in Cali and its illegal to go on any trails around where I live, so noise is an issue as it draws attention. Does Maui have similar laws or is it all pretty much open?
@AccidentalBroadcast
6 жыл бұрын
Captain Candycorn Maui is same. The sugar cane companies know of dirt bikers riding on their lands but the common theme between Maui Riders is if you get hurt, assume responsibility, deal with it yourself, and don’t sue anyone. So far, so good. They just “let” us ride there :) much broader story really as much of the land in Hawaii was technically stolen from the Hawaiian People

Thanks for the info man. I have been thinking about trading “down” to one of these. I ride a GS650 twin , ( it’s an 800 really, stoopid BMW nomenclature ...) Nice bike, but kinda heavy. I am not going touring, all my riding is in London streets , maybe the odd green lane. So something I could flick around and pick up a bit easier if (when) I drop it would be nice. I think I like the X model, but they are rare in the UK so I have never sat on one yet. Good to hear you are even taller than me, I’m 6’4” and like a nice tall upright stance. Oh yeah, I’m also 69 years old and don’t particularly care to wheelie , still recovering from very hurty broken arm from a little sideways low speed off a couple of months back. Playing on the grass with tyres that look a bit knobbly , but are really for the tarmac.... bad idea...
