Holyfield/Bowe 1 is hard to top! It's one of those fights anyone can go back and watch in FULL and it's akin to the rush one gets from watching highlights. Fight is the reason we all KNOW Riddick Bowe could've been the best of the era. You know of all ppl how badly I wish he'd had the discipline! He had it ALL! And that Lewis fight never happening is a crime upon humanity. Think it'd have been even better than the Bowe/Holyfield trilogy. I think they'd have fought more than once too. I can't wait to make that WHAT IF video!

@@boxingpedia Good Sir I fervently wish, like you,that Mr Bowe had achieved his full potential. Could you imagine if Riddick had even 50% of Evander Holyfield's professionalism and pride ? It's so sad that some uneducated folks accuse Bowe of lacking courage because of that stupid stunt of throwing the WBC belt into the bin.That had all to do with the dreadful Rock Newman rather than Bowe. Anybody thinks Big Daddy lacks heart ? - Just take a look at his fights with Golota as well as his trilogy with Holyfield. Mr Jackson, indeed please,please,please do one of your superb '' WHAT IF '' videos on Riddick.We were indeed robbed of possibly the greatest trilogy in heavyweight-history when Newman sabotaged the deal with Mr Lennox Lewis. God bless you Sir.

@spreadeagle2561 it's the Shaq syndrome sadly. If Shaq worked as hard as Kobe did, he'd have been the greatest. Like you, I don't for a second believe Bowe was afraid of Lennox. They were signed to fight even. Wish they reached an agreement in 93, Lewis beat McCall, or Bowe did his job against Golota. Seriously hurts that it never happened, damn! They'd have been the rock/paper/scissors of the 90s.

@@boxingpedia Exactly Mr Jackson,that's a great point.Folks should remember that Bowe and Lewis had agreed terms but Lewis's defeat to McCall scuppered that proposed fight. Yes if Riddick had kept his career on track his clashes with Lennox would have been absolutely legendary. Yes even Lennox Lewis,trained by the great Emanuel Steward,would not necessarily be a favourite to defeat a dedicated Riddick Bowe while Big Daddy was still taking heed of the legendary Eddie Futch. So tragic that we'll never find out. So looking forward to 1993 good Sir.

One last thing. I think the best Holy was Douglas fight as he fought smarter with better distance and mobility. He fought with more awareness that he was in with a big man. fast feet, in and out.

I know I keep expressing this but it's simply bullshit that HBO and SHOtime will copyright claim unedited and uncommented footage of classic 90s fights but won't legally sell footage of these fights it's absolutely irritating it's like they want to have these fights unpreserved and they want to make it so no one will be able to see these fights.

@@boxingpedia I think there was more finesse than Foreman/Lyle and more obvious damage to both combatants than Ali/Frazier 3, Holy & Bowe were both staggered in round 10 and I'd say that Holy v Bowe had more punch variety.

R u going to put Holyfield’s short lived retirement in 1994 as another Holyfield Tyson derail?
@boxingpedia

I'm debating it. Tyson was in prison and we didn't know he'd be out the next year just yet...then again it technically does count as another derailing so...yes I suppose. I'm considering adding another counter to Tyson's sentencing in this video for the supercut too.
